@des2mtn and @shifty` thanks for the thorough explanations as always! I think I understand now. Still need to let my thick skull marinate in it a little more.

I keep a detailers brush on my desk for this reason. That and a vacuum work wonders once a year to prevent such nastiness. Rubbing alcohol wipes from a first aid kit or eyeglass lens cleaning wipes will get the dead skin funk off your keys in a jiffy. Computer off when doing it though...

I think @Jack McCarthy needs much more than a brush at this point. Run the hose in from the air compressor in the garage and blast that bitch with at least 90 psi, followed up with a healthy dose of rubbing alcohol.

My driver door check has been gimped for years after the sheet metal got torn away. I had to cut away a small area and hammer on some others to get a surface flat enough to engage the nuts with the added thickness of the reinforcement plate. Also had to recut the threads on one of the studs since it had gotten mangled from years of banging against jagged sheet metal.

I'll still baby this door since there isn't a lot left to support the reinforcement but I was pleased to discover that door check still functions properly. My rear door checks both need to be replaced or rebuilt.

There is a guy on the Facebook page that sells repair kits for the door. He doesn't charge a lot.

Disconnected the front sway bar today. Having Lots of cranking sounds and sure enough it was the sway bar. Had torqued it but still made noise.

Running smooth and silent. Thinking ima leave it off. Read a few have it off and their 700lb springs do well enough.

I removed mine and installed a rear sway bar. Really liking the setup, not much sway at all but a little more articulation up front off road.

I believe it was the Addco rear sway bar from SDtrucksprings
