Got my dual auxiliary battery setup completed, been away from home since Saturday and this has come in handy!...keeping my 60qt fridge/freezer in the bed ice cold, and batteries last forever...couldn't be happier with how it turned out

Quick question, is there a way to jump the truck battery off the aux batteries if needed?

id imagine thats safe enough to do as long as anything downstream is protected and theres enough charge in the aux battery.

Wow, that takes up a LOT of bed space.

So my thought was... 1. Now you have to keep the bed covered to protect it from the elements. 2. You can't just throw shit in the bed anymore.

I really wish Toyota implemented a factory dual battery and inverter system like Ford's 2.0 kW Pro Power Onboard.

Agreed. This setup would render my bed mostly useless. I’ll stick with my portable generator and a 5 gal can of fuel when I need them for camping trips.

Nice work! Did you have to change out the alternator and regulator or is the stock one capable of supporting the extra load?

    This is an awesome setup.

I guess this one of the downfalls of the hybrid. In a non-hybrid, 95% of this equipment would fit under the rear seat.

Other than the dual batteries you could probably mount everything vertically on the front of the bed to get it off the bed floor. I would probably encase the batteries in their own enclosures so if I do put something in the bed they don't get banged up. You couldn't use a retractable tonneau in this case.

I am sure there is also a way package all these parts in its own waterproof enclosure and place it into the bed of your truck with quick disconnects to the wires going through the bed. This way the install is not completely permanent.

On the hybrid you could mount almost all of it behind the rear seats

For everyone talking about bed space, I mention this at end of video...this may not be the route for everyone, but as mentioned above, there's multiple ways you can mount the pieces to save space...I don't care about that since I have the racks and storage boxes, this works perfect for me...the truck is more of an overland build, I have a travel trailer for hauling anything larger (plywood/sheetrock/lumber/etc)... I do a lot of wood working so that's how I get around lack of bed space...thanks for checking out the video!

I watched the video, but don't recall seeing whether you grounded the house battery to the chassis. I am also now gravitating towards this type of system instead of going with an ecoflow etc., (unless there is a killer Black friday deal on the Delta 2 max which is 1800$ currently for 2kwh

    At that price a 650$ 230Ah battery + 3000W inverter + 20A DC-DC renogy charger and wiring is about 600$ cheaper

honestly after using this setup for awhile now, I can’t recommend it enough…it has been awesome!…the house battery isn’t grounded “directly” to chassis, the wiring instructions don’t call for it…I followed the wiring to a tee, hope that helps!…if ya have any other questions feel free to reach out!

I was just checking out some of your recent videos. I didn't know that you were into drones. If you want a solid drone, look at the DJI. I have the original DJI Mavic Pro that is a few years old and I recently bought the new DJI Air 3.

yea it’s one of my latest addictions…lol…DJI is going to be my next move!…I just picked up an HS600 and I’m loving it, but DJI definitely has a better reputation…I started on the cheaper side just to make sure I liked flying em, but now I’m hooked…lol

Way overkill for a fridge. My 68 qt ARB fridge/freezer runs on a 10 years old car battery for days. The battery takes otherwise a lost spot in the bed's corner between wheel well and fridge. No electronics exposed to weather, everything is under the hood. My bed is still power washable.

Fridge isn’t all I’ll be running…and as the old saying goes, I’d rather have it and not need it than need it and not have it…I’ll be hooking up lights, outlets, and a heater/AC unit just off the top of my head…but I agree, if I was just gonna be running a fridge, this wouldn’t be needed

And thankfully, nothing of mine is exposed to weather as well…I built it with that in mind
