    I don't like syrup.
The twigs that used to fall are becoming branches that fall. I even have my neighbors woods to toss them into.

I used to do yard work for this old man, and he always just told me to dump everything off the backside of the big hill he lived on, it was great.

    That's very Icelandic/Björk of him.

We live on a mountain, right at the top
This beautiful view from the top of the mountain
Every morning, I walk towards the edge
    And throw little things off
Like car parts, bottles, and cutlery
Or whatever I find lying around
    ...
It's early morning, no one is awake
I'm back at my cliff, still throwing things off
I listen to the sounds they make on their way down
I follow with my eyes 'til they crash
I Imagine what my body would sound like slamming against those rocks

    And when it lands
Will my eyes be closed or open?

What is also ironic about it all, he’s creating a perfect habitat for pack rats and shit, and those things destroy cars out here

@shifty` how's the MARTA system? I'm going to be in Atlanta for the weekend and looks like a 2 day pass will get me everywhere I want to go pretty easily.

Depends. It all depends on what kind of person you are, and how you intend to use the system.

Are you sticking with train, and strictly going north/south for the most part, and will you originate at the airport, and ultimately return to the airport? Or are you thinking about doing bus+train all over town? If the former, and not the latter, this is what I'd tell you to help.

The trains are generally clean, on time, and a hell of a lot better/easier/nicer than the subway in NYC for example. I use it semi-regularly to get to/from work and the airport. Yes, you do have the occasional asshole with loud radio, seems to be popular with kids and bikes. Sometimes a panhandler or two. I see a candy lady at least once every dozenth ride. It's usually not overly crowded unless an event is going on. Transfers at Five Points (aka "5P", the east/west-north/south crossover station) is a mess, and that station in particular can be a bit of a cluster. Some people are uncomfortable with the block or two around that station because it tends to have some homeless folk sleeping around/hanging around etc. But you don't NEED to go outside the station to transfer, so unless you're getting off at 5P to exit completely, no big deal. But it's still a clusterfsck even for me, today, when I know I need to transition to another direction.

The buses are for shit, do not recommend for a few reasons. I know people that use them regularly and they'll tell you, they're usually clean, but are rarely on-time, and can be transportation magnets for obnoxious kids depending on where you are, where you're going, and what time of day. Generally the people on them are commuters and students. What I will say is, they make transfers VERY easy, so hopping on/off is not a problem. The biggest dilemma MARTA has had with the bus lines is trying to map out a cohesive system where you can plug in your origin and destination and get a clear sense of what busses to take. Google Maps is actually (usually) pretty good about getting this right from what I hear. Buses *do* have a provision to rack up your bike on the front. Sometimes, if you hit a route with lots of cyclists or wheelchair users, it can slow things up - hence the delays/on-time issue I mention.

tl;dr - It's a pretty solid, generally clean, and reliable system that's way more cost effective than Uber or taxi, as long as where you want to go is within half a mile or so of the stations. Transfers train-to-bus are easy-peasy. If you're anal retentive, bus schedules may drive you nuts.

Pro tip: Ever since ~2021, Uber/Lyft will cost you about as much as a taxi and sometimes more. Pre-2021, I could usually get an Uber from the airport for $12-25, taxi was a flat $35. These days Taxi is still a flat $35 unless you're going Buckhead or north of Buckhead IIRC. Today, Uber usually sets me back about $30-40, but you've got to walk to the stupidest, farthest area ever to catch your ride, while the Taxi is instanteous. Uber/Lyft is more comfortable, nicer, and no need to interact with humans. Taxi is obviously lower quality, not as comfy, but literally waiting for you right outside the terminal door by baggage claim, just like MARTA train. The farther you're going, the more it makes sense to Uber/Lyft. If you're not going north of Downtown, and MARTA train north/south line isn't a feasible option based on where you'd exit, taxi may be your better go.

Were we discussing this recently? This guy was able to perfectly paint his airbag cover.

Will it hold up to the sun though? I thought our dash parts were color infused.

Will be interesting to see how it looks after a couple years baking in the sun.

I didn't know they could do that with paint matching. Cool though. That's always been one of the toughest things I've had to deal with in vehicles with plastic parts where you can't easily get OEM replacements. Sometimes you get lucky and you can trace back to a color from SEM that's perfect, or near it, but it's very hit or miss.

Neat idea. I have some pieces waiting on johnny's bro to paint for my tundra, might send the OG airbag cover and see if that's a possible paint match.

But getting a black dash would be way slicker, that's for sure.

Lately I feel there are more managers working for my company than there are engineers and they’re not that bright.

Hell, even one of my mentees from years back is now chief engineer on a job and I KNOW she’s not that bright.

Where did I go wrong, or better yet, who did I piss off?
