I asked the owner of a body shop if he sees any deer strike damaged cars come in with those attached. He said he had six cars in his shop from deer strikes, three cars with whistles and three without. Not very convincing.

Unfortunately yes. Headlight alone is $2200. Obviously can be found cheaper but that is MSRP. Had to replace the headlight, fender, fender flare, painted plastic, parking sensor, and all mounting plastic underneath. Probably $4k in parts and material and the rest in labor.

Holy shit, I've seen a lot of deer in my life, but I didn't know they could run 65mph!

Sorry about that deer strike. I have to woory about that too, especially with my new Tundra coming, since live in a county with way more deer than people. O-H!

A/C condenser damaged too, or just the radiator?

My mom had 2 on her Chrysler Lebaron and hit 8 deer in 6 years with that car. We called them deer whistles cuz they seem to attract the deer or at least pull them in at the last second.

We also ate all but like 3 of those deer. Mom brought them home if they didn’t keep running.

Alert on the Tundra app says the radiator grill shutter is malfunctioning. Body shop is way behind and is ordering parts off the insurance adjusters estimate from three pictures. We're about to have a serious discussion. I can understand a backlog but I'm concerned about the lack of a thorough assessment, especially with all the sensors and cameras in the damaged area.

Just received an update from my body shop and they've had to order more parts in addition to the original $3,000 estimate. I'll post a final total once I get it but plastic bumpers and grills to meet government fuel standards are obviously a big mistake.

A deer jumped out in front of me at the end of 2022.

I used it as an opportunity, to upgrade to a 1 piece Steel bumper (along with new Fogs etc) and paid the difference from OEM to Aftermarket.

At least it didn't go through the windshield, pretty sure I saw that posted on here years ago.

Right?!?! I was so upset, but I told him that I'm glad nobody was hurt. I was doing yard work and moved my truck in the street so I didn't kick up stones with my mower. I NEVER park in the street, otherwise. Estimated damages $5,900
