I don’t recall exact specs of the amp, but not all “RCAs” are created equal. I’d have to test the input side of the amp before making a recommendation myself. My gut says they’re not a “differential balanced input” and would probably benefit from a shielded RCA cable to aid in noise reduction.

The JL article made me laugh. Almost Everything I use in the pro concert sound world is balanced we just don’t give it fancy marketing names. You just use a third leg throw the signal out of phase so it can’t pickup noise and then throw it back into phase so it sounds great again.

It would be much easier for them to do a micro XLR cable and call it done.

I’ve always wanted to install pro audio amps and hyper cardioid subs in a suburban. Now balanced lines will give you a gain of +3-+4 db

In one of our big systems we use LAB amps. 24000 watts each. Run on 220v and there are 8 of them. That system rocks.

Here is as far as I am gonna get tonight. Did a full up systems check before cramming this mess in the dash and found out the Maestro (as currently programmed) does not jive with the new headunit.

So I am learning myself how to program the stupid thing. Any tips/tricks?
I swear I did two of these like 8 years ago and don't remember shit abt it.

Did you reflash the maestro yet?

    Which dongle are you using?

I have not reflashed it yet, currently getting angry red light flashing 2x.

    Dongle?

Thought it was just a USB connection.

Yeah if you’re getting red lights then it’s not interfacing correctly. You need to hook it up to your computer and flash it with the new HU info.

The dongle I’m referring to is this guy, the streaming stick you’re using. I am trying to decide what I want to run on mine

Ah.. Just the current Firestick. I bought it a couple of months ago for a Milwaukee battery powered projector I built.

I think I was using a bunk USB cable. That style USB is used with many devices and 2 wire (charge only, no data) USB cables are a thing. Just watched a tutorial video and flashing looks pretty straightforward.

Both my 2 Pioneer and 2 Kenwood HUs I've had in my 2014 would/will randomly reboot.
The Pioneers had the screen lag from hell.
The current Kenwood HU reboots maybe 2 or 3 times in a month.
It will also sometimes not connect wireless Carplay at startup, but that only happens maybe once every 2 months.
A truck restart gets it to connect.

I almost went to BB and tried to buy/order one of these Alpines Sunday.
But that screen is a little bigger than what I want for my truck and I talked myself out of it.

The Pioneer in my Tacoma locks up or fails to boot every now and then or spontaneously reboots. It also has a quirk where just abt every time I connect my phone prior to it fully booting, it will lock up. Same if I leave my phone plugged in through an off/on cycle.

Pioneer in my wife’s truck has severe lag and response issues.
