    Sigh.... Now I am gonna have to do this for the clout :D. I have one of those mini Nintendo things, gonna have to check and see if they are 5 or 12v dc.
    Already have the Firestick, just gotta get an HDMI cable to a good spot.
    If the head unit has an IR receiver I could throw an HDMI switch and a universal remote in the truck.

    Stupid question. I've installed many systems, but most were before the advent of 5 channel amps where I ran RCAs to a seperate crossover and then to 2 amps to sub and other speakers. Only experience with a 5 channel is current set-up using speaker level input ( L and R) to an amp with built in crossovers for all 3 (L, R, and sub). So, do I just run 2 sets of RCAs to the amp and let it do its magic or do I run 3 sets and plug into the F, R, and sub inputs. Or does it not matter.

    And yes, I know I sound like an idiot.

    I’d run discrete patches per channel. This way fader, balance and sub (also known as non-fader) can be level set/time aligned independently from the head unit’s interface.

    While I know the basics, I'm not as stereo edumicated as you are kind sir. I do have a bass knob set up if that helps, and I really hate fine detailed tuning cause I'm just an old metal head that can't hear as well as before and have tinnitus from loud music that I'm doing my best to make worse. So, I'm guessing you mean I should run 3 RCAs? :headbang: :fistbump:

    eh, I wouldn’t necessarily equate it that way. More like “doubling” the input voltage received by the pre-amp and enabling better Gain structure. This assumes that L/R are in perfect electrical phase.

    Yeah it’s definitely not the same as doubling components. You do definitively gain something from both LR channels being combined I guess the mix will determine that.
