I recently bought a 2014 tundra limited from a local dealership. I bought the vehicle as is. They charge me $1000 some kind of prep or safety check they called it. When I got home I checked my vehicle and I found the spare was an 18 inch wheel. The truck has the stock limited series 20 inch wheels.I told the dealership That I had the wrong spare on it, they told me I bought the truck as is and it wasn’t their problem. Tried to go to a Toyota Corporate with The complaint and they basically said that I had to deal with the dealership. For what I had to pay for the truck I think they should at lease give me the right spare.

That 18” spare will work just fine for its intended purpose - a spare tire to get you home if you have a flat. In fact, I’d be VERY surprised if any trim package comes with anything different as a spare.

I believe you are correct. My 2016 SR5 TRD has the mentioned 18" spare as well.

Yep, my 2015 came with 20" wheels but an 18" spare. Not only that but it was marked "Not for Highway Use". Since you never know when you will need it, I replaced the spare wheel and tire.

Be glad its a full size spare, or a spare at all these days. But the 18" spare on a steelie is pretty standard.

Its an 18in spare with a larger side wall tire so the circumference is the same size as the 20s. I have 20" rims also with an 18in spare. You don't get a 20in steel spare because you have 20in alloys.

I'd be more concerned about the $1000 "prep" fee they charged you for a 9 year old truck. Welcome from LA (Lower Alabama)!

Most factory spares for pickups are a smaller steel wheel with an inexpensive tire sized to keep the circumference the same because it makes sense to save a few bucks on a wheel/tire that's supposed to come back off and go back under the bed once you get the normal one fixed.
