Alpine ILX-F511. Game Changer

Went to my local BB to get something else.

Asked the cashier to check stock on SKU 6501296. She initially told me they were $1,199 and there were none in stock. I asked if they had some in distribution that could be ordered for delivery, she checked, told me the new price and I said "I will take two".

 

Im gonna try that tomorrow evening on my way home from work!

 

Maybe @BiggHertz wants to start a service, kinda like crutchfield, where we can send all of our harnesses and have them wired up and loomed for us

I've called my local store and they are saying they're all $1k+. It's not coming up as a deal in their system ☹️. They even have 1 in stock but it's $1100.

 

How much is all of that setting you back???

 

Go down there asap and ask if they pricematch other stores even if in other states. When they say yes show them the picture of the shelf tags posted.

 

You have to go in and do this in person; when they do a price check it comes up much higher similar to an online order... but when you are in front of them and it is pulled up and placed into cue to purchase the lower price should come up.

Has anyone gotten the factory backup camera to work, in a non-JBL Gen 2.5?

I've installed the iLX-F511 in my 2016 Limited and everything is working but the backup camera. I used:

• Alpine iLX-F511
• iDatalink ACC-HU-ALP1
  
• iDatalink Maestro RR (
  $180 ADS-MRR Universal Radio Replacement and Steering Wheel Interface
  ADS-MRR)
• iDatalink HRN-HRR-T02

It won't activate when I go into reverse, it won't show up if I tap the Alpine's camera button, and when I look at the diagnostics via the Alpine it doesn't list a front camera.

I checked the Camera on when flashing the Maestro.

I've traced the harness multiple times, from the Toyota dash harness to the T02 to the Alpine RCA labeled for the rear camera. It's all there and tight, but the camera is never available. It works when I plug in the factory headunit.

 

Had no issues on my 2018. The reverse wire is connected properly? Did you check the camera settings on the HU itself? I think I may have had to turn a setting somewhere but not positive on that. I’ll take a look in a few

 

I didn't wire anything specific for reverse since I used the ALP1, but I tested continuity from the ALP1 through the T02. The Installation Status screen says "Reverse On" when I shift into reverse, and "Reverse off" otherwise.

 

I got the backup camera working now, I missed that there was a setting under the Function page in the Alpine to turn it on.

 

But happy to help folks knock things out if nearby. Come out from SD and hang with the Phoenix Crue…forget our brethren in Tucson.

It should allow that, at least while using Apple Car Play. Since that's a Carplay feature.

So just trying to wrap my head around this install. I already have the maestro unit connected to my alpine ilx-f309. I have a 2019 non jbl crewmax……anyone know the wiring harness I would need to hook this up?

 

I just went to Crutchfield (https://www.crutchfield.com/p_500ILXF511/Alpine-Halo11-iLX-F511.html), entered my truck and it told me all the parts that were necessary.

 

Should be the same iDataLink harness that you already have, but you’ll need to rewire with most or all of the F511 harnesses (@1lowlife) posted that earlier. @ToyoMafia swapped an F411 to the F511 and the connections were different on the HU side.

Moral of the story, you should have what you need, but without seeing pics or being there, it’s tough to say for sure.

 

It’s an easy swap. Just put the right shit in the right hole

 

You may need to rewire the main harness but I have no clue. Pics would be helpful. You may be able to pull the main harness out and swap it. Idk
