Nice, that’s a good deal. I’ve been looking for some of those locally, I’ve found a few FGT pics with them and think they work pretty well aesthetically.

Getting new tires today to replace the noisy ass mud claws I have now. 1.5" wheel spacers on the truck, debating taking them off. Tires will be 265/70/16 defender ltxs on stock rims. Any reason to have spacers other than visual compensation?

Yeah that's a very solid deal for those, cheapest I have ever seen them is $200 a set. Supposedly there is a "darker" gray variant of those (which I haven't seen IRL) and there are also black ones.

 

Question, is there a technical term for "limp mode" in the FSM? Trying to search what else could cause that (i.e., not the secondary air bs stuff). By "limp mode" I'm referring to the ECU-initiated "car only goes slow"-mode that's triggered by certain failures (like some of the SAIS codes).

(Not happening on my truck or anyone I care about's truck, btw, just doing some digging.)

 

It could be worse. You could end up packing beers in there on the way to the gun range instead or maybe that's no so bad, I don't know.

No glass in the pool kids. Not a lot but enough to warrant dumping 300k gallons of water.

Correct. We've got a 25 meter pool. Slopes from 4 to 13 feet deep.

 

Why not just vacuum the glass up

 

You'd never find it all. Pieces move in the water as the vacuum nears. Clear coloured, so you'd never see it all.

 

The filters will find it. Just sweep with one of those vacuum pool brooms.

 

@Sunnier is correct. We could see maybe 6 pieces, ran the vacuum for for 4 days straight and what I posted above is that's left. It might work in your backyard pool but it isn't working for this and it's not worth the liability.

 

A little bit of glass never hurt nobody. Builds the immune system.

 

Exactly, my backyard pool solution would be a sign TREAD WATER ONLY, BOTTOM MAY CONTAIN GLASS

Huh. I'll hafta go look that up. When I threw my knock sensor code the 1st time, I didn't remember feeling a change. The 2nd time that same code threw, I definitely noticed the truck stumbling up until I cleared the code, with the truck running, and it stopped running stupid immediately. Makes me think it was definitely the code being set that caused it.

We did a ton of work while we were shut down during Covid and funny enough what started this whole thing was electricians are on site to replace the old lighting. Last of 24 fixtures they removed had broken glass between the reflector and housing and rained glass all over the 2 guys in the lift, the pool deck, and shallow end of course.

I guess my next question is, and like, I know hindsight is 20/20 making it really easy for me to armchair wrangle with this, did anyone think, "Oh snap, people who have no concern about consequences to our pool are going to be doing things up in the air with glass near the pool, shouldn't we cover it?"

I mean, maybe the pool doesn't have a cover. I'm just curious who's footing the water bill this month. I know sometimes you can call the water dept and let them know you need to drain/fill, and they'll give you a by for that once every few years, but damn that's 'spensive.

Honestly it's typically scheduled to be drained every year to inspect grout and bonding anyway.

No cover since it's already inside. Shit happens, they were being careful and it would've happened at some point.
