What's a good price for something in the 150-200k range? I've read the thread on thinking about buying a 1st gen and really appreciate all the helpful information.

If your t4r commands that much in Cali I don’t want to see the truck price. I would think 10-12k here on the t4r.

There's a few on local marketplace with similar mods /miles for this price range so I'm just seeing what people offer.

I'd be stoked to find a tundra with a lift under 15k if it's in good condition. Been seeing a few 2wd in the sub 10k range.

In your area, a nice 4wd v8 AC in that mileage will be about what you're selling your 4r for. A DC will be a few grand higher.

Cool, ya I feel like that's about right. I recall seeing a nice DC 2wd with a few mods a while back who was listed at 15k/trading for 4runner.

Wouldn't mind throwing a few grand on top after selling the runner as long as t-belt/ball joints been kept up on. At least I know what to keep my eyes out for thx to all the great forum info. Appreciate the reply

CA is a big state, whereabouts are you? If you don't wanna get specific, north of Sac, b/t Sac & Bakersfield, b/t Bakerfield and LA, south of LA?

Looking specifically for a Sequoia 4WD, any specific years/options/packages/features must-haves for you? Just curious.

I'd expect you can get, like, a 2001 with less desirable options and 150k-200k miles over there for 10k-15k depending on condition. But I could also see a loaded, newer 2007 with Limited package, all leather, all the bells and whistles going for $15k-19k with what we've seen from other members.

Seems like the worst offerings are in/around SFO, but a couple of guys on here have scored some grandpa 1-owner low-mile finds at really good prices around the 'bay

I'm looking for a Double Cab 4x4 2005/06 with 150-250k service records. Located about 30 min north of Sac.

I love the 4th gen runner, but I hardly use it for trails/off-roading like I used to do in my Tacoma back in the day. I'm hoping to get a DC because I want to have plenty of room for car seat/passengers and it would be great to have a tundra to throw my inflatable dinghy in the back with fishing gear rather than cramming it in the runner.

Definitely keeping my eye out for 1 owner grandpa trucks listed for blue book, but I know you gotta act fast for those, so we will see once I get the cash from selling the runner unless a good trade comes up.

I mean, I fully expect most of what you'll find to be like this I'm pasting here, which is relatively nearby (I'm hunting in YC, this came up half hour south of Sac... I was between Clear Lake, Manchester, Fort Bragg a couple months back, there are 1GT EVERYWHERE over there)

Even for Cali prices, I think this is $2k-$3k too high because - if we go by the radiator support, the TB/WP were replaced at 90k, so you're about 20k-30k away from needing to replace again per Toyota's schedule. But it does have the SnugTop, it's pretty immaculate looking, and based on the engine bay not having surface rust on anything, I'd be shocked to find rust on the frame (but it could be there, you gotta check!)

Just tossing this out there at you.

Sac is larger than anything north, so I'm linking this from there. Toyota started making the Double Cab in late 2003. This CL search I'm linking you up with below pulls all 4WD trucks within like 30-40 miles of Sac, and you can see the results from a bit wider in the section below the local results .... Looks like there's a lot of clean looking options in a wild array of pricing. The pricing is literally all over the f'n place!

Of course, all you need to change is the BOLD part of this URL I'm pasting to match your local CL's website address and it'll give you closer results. And you can use the filters on the left to find stuff within XYZ distance of your zip code.

I sold my well maintained '00 4X4 AC 4.7 with 205K last Sept. for $10K

I went from not getting much action for a few weeks to people lining up and trying to outbid each other. I probably could've held out and gotten a little more. Right after that used truck prices went bonkers.

Double Cab will likely be a bit more.

Piggy backing on this. I've been looking for the past few months religiously on CL and FB marketplace for a clean Access cab with 150k or less miles. I've found that using the filters to the left for year, model, drivetrain, etc. don't always produce the best results. I like to search titles only, and filter within the search itself.

You can see in my screenshot that this will search for the word tundra in the title and will omit year rangers 2000-2002 and 2007-2024. Anything with a "-" in front omits that from the search results. Notice that I have Craig, CO set as the main craigslist, and then a 1000 mile radius from that. I'm in California, but that gives a pretty good spectrum of the western US. I've had pretty good luck with this in the past when searching for vehicles. The only problem is that when the query gets too long, you won't be able to refresh the page without it giving you an error. You have to physically click the magnifying glass or hit enter in the search bar.

The bottom section of this link will show other ways to filter the search within the search bar.

It was weird, I normally use expressions like you're recommending but instead of exclusive, I normally using inclusive expressions. Like (2000|2001|2002|2004|2005|2006) Tundra to only pull the 1st gen truck's year range. For whatever reason, using CL's filters in the Sac area was actually producing more results.

I've done it that way too before, but not everyone puts a year in the title, so it might leave out some results. Sometimes the best finds are just listed "Toyota Tundra" that end up being a one owner grandpa truck.

The wife told me about this 06 limited for sale down by her work. 276k, asking the top end of book at 13.5k. If it sells with that mileage on it, That’s an $7500 truck here. Dude is shooting for the moon. I like the color but his price is insane. A4A4ED69-1579-4212-A1CB-BCECC0A7E6AB.jpg
