There will be a backlit logo malfunction and recall that requires reprogramming a module to recognize the new replacement logo and that will corrupt software causing the rear windows to raise and lower repeatedly even with the truck off until the battery dies.

Just last year they were sending fender vent blanks now all of a sudden they have the supply for backlit logos

I took 20s on my Powerboost because it was what was sitting there. The ride is reasonably good once the shocks broke in but probably would be better with 18s. But the real bummer has been seeing the jump in price per tire over 18s for replacements. Sometimes I seriously think if I can get my hands on some take off 18 inch rims from one trim level or another by the time I want replacements I'd be better off going that route. They would come close to paying for themselves if I found them at a decent price because each of my next couple sets of replacement tires would probably be 200-250 dollars less and I would have a broader price range of options to look at.

Recalls are only for safety concerns. Or will the logo not being lit be a safety issue because it will be the only light on the front of the truck that works at night?

They've all offered 22s for years. This says new ones. But I agree that anything bigger than 18s on a truck is ridiculous.

I think Toyota will be OK. They have high enough volume and enough cross line compatibility there will be secondary parts and skills to repair. I also like Toyota because other than the Germans, they do the best job at having the chips correctly isolated. Better than the Big 3 anyways. The companies that are soon to be screwed are Land Rover, Ferrari, McClaren and other high line brands. Jaguar Land Rover will make no ICE cars >2030 which means they will shit can sustaining engineering in 2017 or so. These parts are not only hideously expensive, they're also very hard to cross source and getting worse. The "softer" cars become the bigger the issue becomes but for high volume stuff it will sort itself out.

That's not a truck. But still ridiculous, especially on something that's supposed to be for off roading.

So yes mine falls under this. A visual inspection shows contact between the axle housing and wire but no chafing or damage so far in a year and a half and 15k.

The bracket securing it in such a dumb place is next to it mounted to the axle so I'm less worried since it all moves together. Potential for damage less than if the wire was held there by a mount attached to something else.I get surgery in a few weeks and should be cleared to drive when the letter comes so I'll be making the call when I see the envelope and will have all the time in the world during my sick leave to deal with it. Don't want my truck rewired again if I can avoid it. Dealer didn't get official notification or instructions yet so won't do anything yet but I want to get in line as soon as they do while I have no damage.

    Yeah....off roading
Whats interesting to me is out this way those that live south of Hwy 7 call it an SUV.
Those that live north of 7 call it a truck. hah hah
    Nice tires..

the recall says notices will go out in Sept.
If someone is going to be trading in a 2022 F150 I guess he better do the trade before the recall notice.
Dealer won't accept trade ins with recalls outstanding.
He is almost at 60000 kms. Ford wants $3000 Cdn to extend warrranty to 120k kms.

    This is not true
i traded in my 2017 ecod cuz it had a recall on the egr, I could not get my rig smogged because I was running a aftermarket ecu tune and tranny tune which passed the smog test before, but the egr required a a complete ecu reflash, and I could not just swap my old ecu back in because it would throw codes for the DEF tank - that was disabled on my aftermarket tune and was not ran for 4 years.

This is not for another Ford. This is what the GM dealer told him. All outstanding recalls need to be completed for them to take the truck.
If this recall affects close to 900 000 vehicles I imagine it might take a while to go through them.

That makes sense. How's a GM dealer going to get a Ford recall fixed?

I have sold 2 Cars to them for great prices but you generally need something nice that there's a market for.

If your car will stay on the lot and sell easily they'll give good money for it, then turn around and over charge compared to a dealer with no haggling. If it's not super popular or has some miles or needs tires and other stuff they'll ding you for it and there's no new car deal where they can juggle numbers around to soften that blow. Then they'll sell at Auction for whatever they can get.

Our 2012 V6 Camry SE and my Challenger RT both with low miles, fresh tires and perfect paint both sold for more than the dealer was going to Offer and we didn't have to argue for either offer.

yes both times I got the carmax ppl to say, this is a nice truck we will put this front row blah blah blah and it will sell no problem, 1st on my 14 hemi where I traded it in at the ram dealer for my ecoD and the 2nd time on the EcoD, remember they have a nationwide database so its not hard to ship one of these trucks cross country since they have dealesr all over and constantly shipping them left/right.

I sold my ram 1500 2013 to carmax with 120k miles on it, with bad lifters/camshaft, transmission issue, brake system issue and front end steering issues... For $12k

They auctioned it and another small dealer near Los Angeles had it listed for 18k

I like carmax, they gave me best price and nice to deal with

I think PHEV's will become the way to go, but maybe I'm wrong. A PHEV Mitsubisher Outlander gets something like 2 liters per hundred kilometers, which is over 100 mpg.

I had one of those in San Diego as a rental for a week. We drove up to Legoland in Carlsbad where they had free charging, so I plugged it in. It got me most of the way back to San Diego including stops in La Jolla and Torrey Pines on the way. It was a cool little rig.

I buy a 2023 tundra 1794 v6 iforce last month, very nice truck, but the mpg is 14.3, can't believe. My working truck is a 2013 f150 v8 5.0l with 140k miles on it, this truck full of tools and equipment, the mpg is 15.6. WHY?
