I installed one of the widescreen China units in my BIL's 4runner. Pretty sure they run the same guts as the China Tesla style screens.
I LOVE the form factor of it, hate the functionality.

I can confirm the TR1 works on the older ILX headunits (currently have a ILX-107 in my truck).
Also have the Maestro unit for steering wheel controls and OBD2 in place already.
I "think" the dash kit should cross over (single din) so the only thing I would need is an XM tuner and antenna (107 doesn't do native SXM).

I just went to our local Best Buy and ordered the 9 inch version for my wife's 2015 4Runner Pro. It was $420.99. :D

I was planning to get the XM tuner as well. I believe the one we want is the SiriusXM SXV300V1 Tuner. Crutchfield has it in stock for $69.99. I think if we pair that with the Maestro ST02 we can utilize the factory antenna instead of the included one with the tuner or at least that's how I understand it.

Even though it is a limited, my truck didn't come with the factory antenna.

Jumped through hoops, including buying a shockingly expensive adapter cable to use the factory XM antenna in my tacoma and find that the aftermarket antenna in my wife's truck works much better then OE.

It's all relevant info regarding the head unit. At first I thought this was going to turn into another Bilstein shock too good to be true deal until I saw the proof.

Hmm, I may have to inspect mine then. Not too sure what I have to be honest.

$57 on Amazon, $39 if you already have an antenna. Gotta dig through my box O parts and see if I have an extra antenna kicking around.

Mine is an 07 and (IIRC) the factory antenna was in a weird spot for 1st year 2nd gen Tundras, like on the leading edge of the roof, off to the passenger side.

Later trucks probably have the standard "shark fin" that all the Tacomas got.

Your truck being a decade newer probably has it. Look on the roof and/or google the connection location. Not 100% on Tundras but on Tacomas it is a square plug with a round connector in it under the driver's kick panel.

I've got an antenna on the roof, just not sure if that's for my SiriusXM, navigation or both.

Same here. Pulled my Kenwood out of the truck and hoping to get it mostly working tomorrow. Still waiting on a few more parts that’ll be here Monday or Tuesday, but I’m impatient lol

XM tuner won't be here until Saturday. I mostly dummied it up so the wife could see it. The Pioneer headunit in her truck frustrates the hell out of her, especially XM channel selection. Now I am gonna have to figure out how to unclip the screen so that I can install it.

Hopefully there are still 9" available.

I have a fair bit of audio stuff to do. Deadend the crap out of the factory JBL box and stuffed a MBQuart sub in it. Pairing it with a 90s vintage 350w Zapco amp to see if I can put a little bit of ass in this truck.

I had mine shipped to the store which doesn't arrive until the 18th. :goingcrazy: That's fine with me as I still need to order everything else needed for the install. I think I'm going to grab the front and rear dash cam to go with it and the xm tuner.

My headunit should be delivered today. I will install when it arrives. From the pics above I can already tell the resolution is much better then the previous version

I installed a Kenwood myself but I paid crutchfield for their wiring service. You'll need maestro and the wiring harness if you want to retain steering wheel controls and factory settings. The wiring part can be annoying as you'll want to solder them and there's like 50 million wires. Other than that, a whole bunch of YouTube videos on how to remove the old unit and everything else should be plug and play.

You can get the antenna and GPS adapters if you want to retain the factory one, I didn't bother with it and used the GPS that came with the stereo.

You don't need the 2 camera switcher, unless you have multiple cameras installed somehow. You need the KCX-CAM1 adapter to add a front camera, though (there is one in the box with the HU but it's for the rear camera). The GPS adapter will not work, even with stacking the NAV1 and the SAT-TO2 kit. You need to use the GPS antenna that comes with the HU, as far as I can find from the last couple days of research.

    Two other things you'll need:
    AM/FM antenna adapter https://www.crutchfield.com/p_12040LX11/Metra-40-LX11-Antenna-Adapter.html?tp=2569
    Dash kit https://www.crutchfield.com/p_120998252/Metra-99-8252-Dash-Kit-Silver-Black.html?tp=3121

Indeed. There doesn’t seem to be an Alpine-to-Toyota adapter
