I purchased a set for my '22 at the end of May this year and have yet to even get a shipping confirmation. After multiple emails and an up-charge powder coated (because it was 'in stock') I still have not heard from them in weeks. Feeling like I took one on the chin, and will probably go with Taco or Talon

Anyone with similar experience? I went with Valhalla due to a few forum member's recommendations.

Yes- to be exceedingly kind to him, I will only refer to that guy as a bad communicator and a lousy businessman. I placed an order with him for a CAT guard in November '22 and after one day I still did not get an order confirmation. I then searched more thoroughly about his company and found that others also had bad experiences. I cancelled that order and went with Talon and that was shipped out the next day. I disputed the credit charge to insure I would not get dinged and that was reversed. I never heard from the Valhalla guy and after several weeks guess what showed up at my door- a CAT guard. I gave him WHAT FOR and finally heard from him because I explained to him about his mindless blunders and to send to me a return shipping label. It went back to him so case closed. Caveat Emptor.

Really sad to hear, but this is almost my exact situation. I waited longer since I expected the milling to take some time if orders were coming in. I also never received an order confirmation email until I asked for one, and have yet to receive shipping info. Looks like a charge-back will be the next step. Appreciate your input.

I got mine from Taco tunes and I'm glad I passed on the Valhalla ones and as a bonus it works with RCI skid plate.

I have the Valhalla but things have changed. I recommend hitting your bank or credit company to get a refund. Highly recommend @Talon2006 and his product. He has been active on the forum and tends to have stock available so you should have shipping in only a few days. Feel free to message Talon on here to ask any questions or find out if there are lead times.

Hope you get your plates soon, they provide a nice piece of mind.

I believe the appropriate response is: there's a reason he's no longer an approved vendor"

    It's too bad.

I have Valhalla as well. But, other than wait a wee bit longer than I originally expected, everything went ok.

I bought the TRD skid plate, fits like Toyota designed it to. While not a complete cat shield it would take some very good creativity and time to get the cats out. Usually fab welders are not the best businessmen.

I never tried Valhalla however if you go to another supplier I had reasonable shipping times and easy installs with the RCI Skid Plate and Cat Shield. Shipping time was as quoted also, a couple weeks on each.

The TRD skid plate doesn't cover the cat plates at all for previous gens.
Since I don't own the new model, glad to hear it does help

Shame, cant say the communication was great, although he responded to the forums. Mine were shipped in the specified time frame. Powder coating though was hit and miss on my pieces.

Mine took about a month to ship; however, it was during “the COVID years” when everyone had shipping issues.

With that said, at the time, he was one of the only games in town. Now there are multiple people providing the same service for cheaper, and far quicker.

It doesn't cover the cat per se, but it would take someone with 6 foot arms to reach around the skid plate and get to the front cats with the TRD plate in place. It would take a lot of time and muscle but could be done, usually not an ideal situation for someone looking to score some quick steal and run.

No need to apologize to me, the limited I have has the front camera which from my understanding starts filming with jolted. I also have the app and am armed to the teeth so I am not sure if any criminal really wants to mess around with trying to get the cats off my truck. I also live in a red state which makes it a felony and all the recyclers have been cracked down on. Yes you are correct that the back two cats are left unprotected but usually they want to hit all of them at once which makes the skid plate a deterrent. I know people on here use the mid plate with the TRD pro so I could go that route as well if something happens but my truck isn't lifted and who ever tries to steal the cats will be there for a while and if I see or find them then they will be in the ground forever.

I got Valhalla's in COVID years, the delay was as advertised on the web site: 5-6 weeks. Maybe tad more, but the guy responded quickly to my inquiry.

Wasn't fully happy with the rear cat shield, had to cut a square hole for the transfer case splash guard and weld brackets to the shield once it is leveled and does not plow deep snow when in reverse.

Power coating is usually crap, it is gone from any third party fabrication after single New England winter. When I care about the look, I repaint and coat with Raptor myself.

Anyways, it is basically a thick piece of steel that protects everything above it in the field, and I'd say I like how it turned out.

Just to confirm: If it is in stock on our website, it is on our shelf ready to ship. Op still has about an hour to order for it to ship today.

All of our 2022 stuff is in stock.

Valhalla's Shields isn't as much a scam as it is a one-man operation that got in over his head.
Took several months to get mine in early 2022.
It's a great product, but it came with unanswered questions and untrue shipping promises.

If I needed one today, I'd order from @Talon2006

Does the talon cat shield need to be removed for oil changes.

No, cat shields are behind the skid plates and do not affect oil changes. If you also add in the Talon skid plate, as shown above, it has the access door like the TRD skid plate.

I get it, but believe me, it's better to buy one than suffer the consequences of them getting stolen..
Mine were stolen in my employer's parking lot.
Took 8 months to get my truck back from the dealer in November of 2021..

It really sucked getting off work at midnight and HEARING this..

TRD Skid plate on 3ed gen does not have an access hole. The whole skid has to come off for each oil change. Talon's does have access holes though. Going to buy a talons skid here soon to match the cat shield. I had my Talon's cat shield in hand about 2-3 days after I ordered it and happy with my purchase.

Well as long as the tweaker walks in front of your truck after they cut off your rear cats guess you'll get their face walking away with your two rear cats and then you'll get to wait 6+ months for back ordered new ones. Guess as long as you never park anywhere other than your garage at home you'll probably be good to go. Tweakers don't care if they get one cat or four. I think the cat shield is cheap insurance mainly for not having to wait for back ordered parts if you do get hit. Does the app let you know when the camera get jolted? Don't have a windshield camera so genuinely curious. Also wonder if a sawzall on the exhaust pipe would be enough to even wake up the camera.

Not sure the app will tell you if it gets jolted and the camera is supposed to kick on at the same time, I have never tested it though so who knows if it would register it when it happens. I work from home and the truck sets in security monitored fenced in areas and my driveway other times. I do not drive and park it in a parking lot and leave it for hours on end. A Tacoma from my wife's work had its cats removed from a criminal and if I was working from a non secured office location then I would have the back cats covered with a shield. I think the front camera acts as a deterrent since it blinks/ flashes a red light like it is recording.
