I would reposition that camera up a little to better catch anything on that street as well. Hoping you never have to review something like this again, but it would help.

Also, it's hard to tell, but I can definately tell the passenger side mirror is knocked back in the still @KNABORES grabbed. Doesn't look like a ton of front end damage though.

Did you give the info to PD?

Maybe better to alert the insco? They have a vested interest in getting the perp to pay.

Unfortunately that's as much of the street as that camera will get. It's a balance between monitoring my shed and gate entrance, that is more important, also not trying to peak over anyone's fences. I've also since replaced the front doorbell cam, and added a driveway floodlight camera.

i filed a police report, and the insurance didn't really seem to care at all that I've done so, or had supporting vid.

Must have data that says it is cheaper to pay out & not have investigators to try and recover the loss.

Just noticed this at the bottom of my claim also. so that's good.

    Liability decision complete
    You are not liable
Our investigation found that you were not responsible for the accident.

Can't believe it took this long to figure it out. While sleeping in my bed, another vehicle hit my parked truck...

Insurance company: Full investigation. The insured is at fault somehow.

    wtf! that's absurd.

I'd be surprised if my rates still don't go up. but still gonna swap insurance companies. They're increasing my home insurance like $600 and I haven't filed any claims on that...

    Cool on the report!

How can you be liable if it was legally parked and hit & run????

What is the word on using aftermarket parts?

Will they actually start work soon or have you gone from the large Dr. waiting room to the small Dr waiting room?

Lol...so when I spoke to the shop about all the issues with SF denying OEM parts, he said that's all he uses. And he is the #1 shop that shows up on SF preferred shop list. He said he negotiates prices with OEM vendors, though. Idk, we'll see. Tbh I want it totalled.

Not sure when they start work on it. But at this point storage fees are all on SF, so I hope it's expensive

Thankfully my truck wasn't out in it. That would have added 30-35k on top of the vehicle we did lose.

The shop called me Monday to ask if I did anything to the truck, like not remove the tune or something, because it wouldn't start. Had to tell him about the STOP fuse under the dash. That had blown after the hit when multiple exposed live wires for the taillights touched. Apparently this is a newer thing. Shop said he's never heard of it before. With it blown, truck will start and then stall a few seconds later.

He didn't call back after I explained that so assuming it was the same issue. I had driven the truck to and from the previous shop, so that's likely when it blew the second time.

Dang that would've been a plausible option too. I haven't heard anything back in the truck since the STOP fuse call, so assuming that was why it didn't start. Probably call them on Friday to get a status update
