Stihl would also be my first choice of chainsaw. Despite that, I bought a refurb Echo from the HD tool rental side for less than a hundred bucks. That was about a decade ago and I have used the hell of it, and loaned it out regularly. Thing has been nails. Seems like most small equipment will last pretty well if you avoid ethanol gas.

 

I'd like to find a dual battery electric chainsaw with an oil tank, then i'll get a matching drill and impact and grinder... but the 2t ryobi weedeater i bought last winter has been a champ, even through some dry thick stuff. I'll get another gas ryobi if the good electric stuff doesnt get cheaper. My little homelite got the big homelites bar when the bulb broke on the big homelite. Really wish those tiny rotary engines woulda become a thing. When i cash in a million dollar idea i want all my powertools to run off one of these.

Stihl and Husqvarna are both solid saws if you don’t get the lowest end consumer model.
I have primarily Husqvarna and no complaints, my go-to for smaller work (353) is awesome, I even accidentally drove over it once with the T100, just bent the wrap around handle.
I’ve got a pile of saws, even my dad’s old Homelite from the early 80’s which still runs (and with a 16:1 mix keeps all bugs away). Got a 104cc Stihl (070) that nearly broke my wrist a couple times trying to start it, thing’s a beast, unfortunately quit running and I haven’t had a chance to fix it, not that I have need of such a big saw often.

 

My 2000 AC has the fiberglass skid plate and plastic splash guards.

 

I saw some of those fiberglass ones on 1st-gen Tacomas at the junkyard, wasn't aware that was even a thing! My 2001 has the steel one.

 

While it took a bit to get used to the choking till it fired and then go half-choke, I'm satisfied.

However, up until last year when it finally went to chain-saw heaven, my Homelite Super-XL topped them all IMHO. FIL(rest his soul), gave it it to me 40 odd years ago and the sound was almost as sweet as an old Harley.

I cut stove wood for heat. I prefer Husqvarnas for this. I'll go to the woods with a 288XP and either a 357XP or a 346XP. I do have a top handle Stihl 200T that I prefer for in tree work. I learned to cut with an old Homelite XL. Next was a Stihl 032 then a Husqvvarna 77 that I used until I found the antivibration on a 288XP. I tried a 576XP but the AutoTune just don't get the job done for me. I'll stick to keeping my current saws running for as long as I can source parts.

 

So @bmf4069 getting back to this. Here's the setup I'm running to separate my server from my PC. I'm basically running what's called a 'headless' server.

I take it you know what a NAS (Network Attached Storage) is. Basically a box with 2 or more hard drives in it that's attached to your network somehow, typically with a network cable. There's a ton of manufacturers out there. QNAP and Synology are about the only two brands I'd buy (Buffalo isn't bad, but ... QNAP and Synology are the Cadillacs of the NAS world).

Basically, could be as simple as something like THIS. Where the two bays you see in front each hold a standard 3.5" disk we all know from standard PC. They'll typically accept a 2.5" disk also. More info after the pic.

There are quite a few models from QNAP with a processor capable of supporting running VMs i.e. virtual servers. It helps to upgrade the RAM if the one you buy doesn't already have at least 2G-4G of RAM in it.

Once you slap a couple disks in it and follow the instructions to activate and format those disks, it has a back-end webpage you can login to. From there, it's like any smart device: It has an app store built-in, along with a bunch of base apps. Installation is, like, stupid easy, as easy or easier than an iPad or Android tablet.

The "POWER USER!" app you can install on the QNAP to create virtual machines is called 'Virtualization Station', I'll refer to it as VS from now on. There's an easier way that requires no real skills, see the last video in this reply.

When you fire up VS for the first time, it'll ask you: For any virtual server/virtual computer you create, where should I keep the files? From there, you open the VS software, and ... build a virtual computer! You give it a name, you say what OS is going to be running, how many CPU cores it'll use, how much RAM it'll take from what's installed in the NAS, and what network to connect to. You need an OS install disk/boot disk (Windows, Linux, whatever) in ISO format for whatever OS you want to put on it, but that's easy enough. For Windows, you need a license like any other PC.

Obviously if you're running Minecraft, Ubuntu Linux is probably the easiest no-brainer OS to install, but if you have a Windows license, there's no reason you can't install Windows on this thing, and stick with what you know. You just need a Microsoft license, really.

I'm really just giving a top-level overview on how to get it done. The 'NASCompares' channel on YouTube gives the step-by-step on how to setup and configure one of these things, anyone can do it!

I got a LIPO power bank recently that states it can be used as a UPS I haven't really used it yet. It was on sale during prime day. Not sure on the longevity but you can go as crazy as you want and get high capacity units and solar panels and such.

Ive been trolling marketplace again. These are for sale locally:

2020 4runner 17's look to be in nice condition. $45 each. I'll have the same if not more into the tundra wheels with blasting/paint, not to mention my time.

From what I gather they are a direct bolt on without any kind of spacer etc? And the backspacing is actually better than stock tundra wheels?
staying on 265/70/17's

Seems like AI is taking over everything nowadays. I wonder if it'll predict the weather better than the weatherpeople and their complex computer models.

Will phone weather AI apps tell me accurately everything i need to know about the weather in 10 years making the weatherperson obsolete? What say you @FirstGenVol ?

 

I'm not sure but they confirmed we got an EF2 Tornado yesterday. It did damage all over town but no injuries. First one we've had in August since they started keeping records in 1950. I'm glad it missed my house.

 

We only got an EF1 here in two separate towns almost 50 miles apart. Very localized though. Only impacted about a mile of land.

5G 4runner snowflakes are 117mm backspacing and 15mm offset 7x17
1G Tundra type D are 117mm Backspacing and 15mm offset 7x16

Afraid I cant clear the garage door with the extra 1" from a 265/70/17 from the stock 265/70/16
I can get a 265/65/17 in my tire of choice, but im not stoked on the reduced sidewall.

That Dodge Ram with a 318 was a decent truck with a shitty interior that most 90’s trucks suffered from. The 360s not so much.

 

Didn’t they have coolant leak issues? I thought the Cummins diesel from that era was the only reliable engine?

 

It’s still a good movie today, even as a kid watching it, I always wanted to make some yard art like aunt may.
I can only assume T2 will have some more dodges in it to keep with the nostalgia.
