I'm trying to install a VLED Footwell lighting kit that I had in my 2020 Tundra in my new 2023. It's going to be easiest for me to tap into the passenger side fuse box to get this done. I tried the Dome 10a fuse but it was constant on. Does anyone know if there is a fuse I could use so the lights are on when the doors open and off when they close?

I asked a few of you about this already (thanks for the replies), but I'm still having trouble figuring it out.

    Gotcha.

yeah, I think dome is always hot but the switch indicates function. So you would have to tap wires, same for cargo I would imagine.

are you just not wanting to tap a wire?

Thanks, that's helpful. I'd be fine tapping a wire, it's just a matter of finding the correct one.

Just in case anyone else attempts this I ended up following @99ways2die instructions for tapping into the cargo lights instead of the dome lights. This works great for when the footwell lights are on and off.
