    Good day,

I am considering going with a KDMax tune as there is a local tuner in the area that installs them and has a good reputation for service.

KDMax is well known in the Tacoma community but pretty quiet on the Tundra side.

Does anyone on the forum have a KDMax tune installed and can speak to the experience? If not, I may be first.

    Pete

    To add:

My tune goals are primarily towards general drivability and towing performance (shift points, throttle response and running too rich).

Thanks Pete, we have tuned quite a few 5.7l 4x4 Tundras. Everyone has been very pleased with the improvements. Smooth, predictable shifting, aggressive, linear throttle, improved MPGs and better overall Drivability.
Hopefully some of our past customers are in here and can elaborate.

    I tuned a 2016 Tundra 5.7l 4wd this week.
He said the power, throttle and shifting were great.
He also texted me that he got 14.5 MPG on his 2 hour drive to me and got 16 on the drive home.

After getting a tune, does Tow/Haul button still do anything to benefit towing or liven up the drive when not towing?

Yes sir. That is exactly what we do for Tow/Haul button. Holds gears a little longer and a little more throttle.
