How has your fix been? I just got out of the dealership who did my tensioner and timing chain repair on my 2018 Tacoma. Even though they just pulled valve covers and inspected valve train right before cracking into the timing chain, even though the ticking noise went away after they replaced the tensioner and chain, even though it is making the exact same ticking noise that fades out and comes back and gets louder until it starts over, they are saying it sounds like a lifter sticking now... after I spent almost $6k on diagnosis and timing chain 4,122 miles ago. I'm furious with this dealership! Thoughts? Suggestions? I need help please post an update!

still no noise and running strong 5,500 miles later. Confident that is what the source of my noise was.

Update on what I found out. Dealership is saying it was the cam phaser on the new cam gear failed. They called it a fluke and all work was done under parts and labor warranty from the previous work. Glad to hear yours is running rights still. So far mine is running like a dream again.
