TSS Black 20s

What are the thoughts on the TSS offroad package that includes the black 20"? I really wanted to get a TRD offroad with the 18s, but the dealer had this one in stock and made me a solid deal.
Im partial to traveling offroad with 16" or 17" wheels due to the available of finding tires in remote areas if needed, and with the popularity of 18" wheels today I could probably get by.

Has anyone made the switch down and been pleased, displeased?

For reference, this is the wheel im talking about. Actually, this is the exact wheel/tire combo I am referring to.

 

I have the wheels and love the look @My signature pic. I had the same exact tires in there but now I am running 35s with no issues.

 

I've got the same combo and love them...no complaints so far.

 

Anyone add wheel spacers to this rim? Any issues?

 

I too am rocking the TSS wheels and love them. Have not done anything aftermarket to the drive train...yet.

Questions for you, @Coolhardy , whats the full setup and tire size you are running for 35s? Is it something that can be done without leveling, after leveling?

 

Pictures of mine. Also posted these on my intro thread. They seem to be a bit different than the other black TSS wheels I have seen since they are completely black and don't have any polished surfaces.

I think 35s are my end goal. From what I can find, the 5.7 combined with the 4.30 diff handle them really well.

 

Same wheels on mine except they are chrome and no complaints!!

 

They do just fine...I'm running MT 35's. I've got 3" leveling kit, with Ikon and bags in the rear. You may need to trim some of the front inner trim (plastic piece just behind your fog light area).

 

Man...I'm really digging the new design on these wheels. This is the first I've seen them on a rig. Sharp!

@elrob if you want to save some money on retail price, but want the TRD 18"s, I plan to take mine off shortly and get new wheels. They have less than 100 miles on them currently, and I'd be happy to sell them to you so you can save some money!

Hmmmm....I think you've got a better shot at beating me there... I'm pretty sure I could just buy the wheels myself for what I'd pay in gas

 

I have 3 inch Boss toytec lift with 1.25 inch wheel spacers and a block in the rear. I installed wheel spacers to match my flares. Have Procomp 35 inch tires, love the ride.

Which flares are those? Good looking truck. I'm usually not a fan of wheel spacers, but that fits nicely.

 

Thanks, I m not a fan of wheels spacers either but it works w toytec lift kit and align the wheel w flares.

I don't do a whole lot, but IMO they help with ride comfort. I definitely agree with others that have referenced towing tools like the Equal-i-zer hitch. Depending on your load, bags and other suspension adjustments may level your ride or make it more comfortable, but it can shift more weight to truck than you may think/want.
Most of my towing is for hunting/camping where I always have gear in the bed. Again IMO, the bags help with that weight (in the bed) and the overall smoothness in the ride.
