My RC hard fold tonneau cover came in! Yes I'm aware I need to pressure wash the driveway...as soon as I'm healed up and the cover is on that'll be next. Living in the woods has its downsides.

Okay so today I changed my oil. This isn't such a big deal but it is the first time I changed the oil by myself in 15 years. It was pretty easy and I saved myself a ton of money in the process. Plus, I am not waiting 16,000km to change my oil. 8,000km is plenty enough for me.

You don't have to pressure wash sh1t. If anyone wants to complain about it, let them come do it ;)

    Too many mods to come

I have no idea yet but will find out. I'm guessing $6-8k for those alone not including the rest of the shocks and bump stops etc

Worked late, then walked out to my truck. The door unlocked and I got in, but no dash lights. Pushed the button - absolutely nothing. Hooked up my car jumping doohicky and cranked up. Unhooked my doohicky and the truck ran for a few seconds, then died. Crap. Dead cell. Took delivery of the truck three years and three months ago. Toyota batteries suck. Hooked up my doohicky again and cranked up, rev'ing the engine a few times. Hurriedly unhooked my doohicky, closed the hood, and got into the truck and rev'ed some more. Got out of the plant parking lot and headed to Costco, the only place I knew of that was both still open and carried Interstate batteries. In the 20 minute drive, my gauges dropped and my radio reset 4 times, but I was moving so the engine kept turning. Made it to Costco, bought and installed my battery, returned the core, and came home.

BTW, the OEM battery bracket is not tall enough to work with an Interstate Group 27F battery. Gotta find a bracket that will fit.

    I'm going to bed now.

3 years is the average lifespan of a battery in our region.

Question, does anyone know if the crush washers for the rear differential (drain plug, fill plug) are the same size for the front differential?

Yeah our 4Runner is a 2020 with 12k miles on it but I think I'll replace the battery in it before school starts next week.

I'm just glad it wasn't any later, and that I had previously noticed the Interstate batteries on display at Costco. My next option was to go with whatever AutoZone had in stock, which would have been money wasted. I guess the silver lining was that I only paid $109 for an INTERSTATE battery at Costco.

Just recently got back from a camping trip. Notice some of out travel food had been gotten into. Started checking the engine bay and notice some of the wires had been chewed but not broken through the insulation. Set a trap and got the punk. Went through and change the cabin air filter and found the nest. Set more traps for about a week and nothing. Fingers crossed I got it before any major damage.

Lucky you! Baby squirrel made it into the cab two days after I bought the truck(assume he fell from an overhead tree). Made his way behind the dash and chewed out the majority of my firewall insulation. Found him a couple days after when I noticed that I could REALLLLY hear the engine noises.

I recently had to go the Autozone route and I had problems with the first battery within a week. And it was quite a bit more than $109.

I'm sorry to hear that. Must have been a badly shorted cell. Were you able to confirm charging voltage on the truck afterward with the new battery? The fact that it wouldn't stay running after jumping it would have me a little uneasy about the alternator condition. You're 100% correct, though, that sometimes a dead short will pull the alternator down pretty hard.

Glad it all worked out, sir.
