To each their own but I wouldn’t put a flat bed on a tundra unless it was bobbed and used for off-roading only.

I spread a few hundred of those around my property in May. The bug population...specifically ticks, is greatly reduced.

I'll tip my toes into the dirt riding eventually, but for now I just want to get 100% comfortable on the bike. Planning a ride with a buddy this weekend along with some Taco maintenance. It'll be busy, but should be fun.

KTM's are great for the vertically gifted

 

Any of the larger ADVs should work. I personally am a fan of the Japanese bikes. They all seem to have fewer problems. Or, if budget allowed, IDK why but the HD Pan America calls to me. I've seen them in person and just think they look great. Some cool and innovative stuff on them as well. If they ever do a 650-900cc version I might be tempted to buy American.

Hardly, my first and only bike was an old Honda 250 dual sport.
Snowmobiles were my passion, been out of it for a while now. 4wheelers are more family friendly these days.

True a 4 wheeler or a SxS is more family friendly, but sometimes a little solo throttle therapy is needed. As long as you don't go nuts, a motorcycle can be a great way to squeeze that in on a budget.

I cannot comment on the sled bit. Never had an interest in them or jetskis. I can at least lie to myself about the bike being kinda practical because I can commute on it. Sleds and PWC are pure toys. LOL

Sleds are definitely a group gig though, at least how I used to ride. Backcountry with avy bags, beacons etc..

 

100% agree. That's part of why the sleds never appealed. Not great for antisocial folks.

You can find great bikes at good prices if you shop used. Your height is a challenge though. My bike is cheap, but you'd be cramped on it. What kind of use would you want from a bike? All dirt/all street/jack of all trades?

 

Probably another enduro, I live just a few minutes from thousands of acres of public land. Definitely a 450 if I did get one

 

Ah, so you're heavily biased to the dirt. If you are legitimately looking at a bike you might find this 450 vs 300 of interest. I had no idea they were so different.

Yep, mostly easy dirt riding but something I could commute on (1/2hr).

 

I know Itchy Boots took her CRF300L Rally from South America to Alaska, and then over to Africa. If you don't need interstate travel it's a damn good bike. I eyed it hard, especially for the price, but I need to be able to run 75 MPH for a few hours.

 

I forgot! I do own a bike, it just doesn't run great right now. I bought my grandpa's old trail bike several years ago, it was only in the US for one year.
