Bad Connection? Hope you figure it out. They do have a good warranty.

Update: I had them send me their DRL delete relay and it fixed my issue for now
    https://www.morimotohid.com/morimoto-14-20-tundra-drl-delete-relay

Now I get no hyperflash, but I also don't get the blinker sound as others had mentioned. No idea why this became a problem 7 months later either. I replaced most of my fuses just to be sure including the ones in the morimoto harness.

Will it be a problem if I add led front turn signals to the oem led headlights? Like hyperflash issues with the morimoto tailights?

I might be weird, certainly, but I've fallen in love with my silent turn signal after having it for a while.

The Morimoto tails have onboard resistors to prevent hyperflash so you’d have to treat the front lights like any other LED bulb install. Some bulbs have onboard resistors, and others are external. Either way, you’ll likely need to compensate for it. The Morimoto tails shouldn’t add nor subtract the amount of hyperflash experienced.

Damn. I'm sorry to hear that... Out of curiosity for the replacement that showed up, do you recall if the foam material inside was a softer black foam, or was it white styrofoam?

Was this the original tail light you had that failed? I recall your earlier post showing the driver's side but could not tell if HR sent you replacement for both sides.

I actually had my passenger side fail as well as I was installing the DIR harness and knew something was up when I removed the light and could hear plastic dropping.

I'm currently waiting for my replacement as well.

I’ve had the original Morimoto tail lights failed both sides, now the replacement on the right failed. The left I just took out is still intact as it’s only 1 month old.

Hmm... So take what I am about to say next with a grain of salt because I don't have any evidence to support it. I know that they (Morimoto) were planning on making incremental changes to these lights (fitment/security being one of them). There was never a formal announcement about it, but I have noticed some sets now coming with black foam padding in a bigger box leading me to believe that these would be V1.1 of those lights, or at least their packaging. That said, the ones we took in went right back out and I didn't think to take note of any differences between them. I'll take note on the next ones though. I was just curious what your most recent incoming set looked like.

Wanted to give you and those interested of the differences I see.

Mine did come in a black Styrofoam this time around. This is my second replacement (first for the right, second for the left). To be clear, I did not have an issue with the left one after being replaced. Morimoto wanted me to go ahead and replace both sides for what I assume is due to ensuring both lights are on the same version.
    20230802_195516.jpg

I have added each replacement iteration from left to right. My original set (manuf. Feb 2022), first replacement (manuf. Sep 2022), and whole replacement (manuf. Jun 2023).
    20230802_200755.jpg

Most notable difference is the screw bracket. It looks more solid compared to previous iterations.

    Version 1
    20230802_200817.jpg

    Version 1.1
    20230802_200833.jpg

There are some other very minor changes that aren't really worth mentioning but you can kind of see them if you look hard enough like @memario1214 mentioned.

    Hope this helps.

more threads on 1.1 version, along with a nut of some sort. Plastic mold seemed to line up better with the body as well.

So now they are sending me a new set of taillights. They claim the broken tabs is in the past. I’ll find out in a week or two.

I had the same issue a few months back. The originals didn't line up great and the bolts kept coming loose eventually breaking the tabs like everyone else's did. I talked to Morimoto directly and they were pretty quick about replacing them. The tabs seemed a bit beefier with the replacements and they sent new bolts too, so the OEM's could be replaced. I was only able to use the new bolts on one side as on the other side they were too short so I re-used the OEM bolts on that side. Ultimately though the fit is much better-although not nearly as good as OEM, more solid and they have not come loose at all. Fingers crossed it stays that way...

Wish I had read this thread earlier.

    2014 DC.

Fit is frankly awful. Big gaps (see pics). I'm having a problem with the left tail light, bottom right corner cracked (first one I received was "pre-cracked" in the very bottom right side...noticed when I removed the factory plastic sheeting that it was cracked and a chunk came off).

Fast forward to this week and I replaced the left one (on warranty). Looked OK (fit still stinks as you can see) then went on with my day. A day later I was out running errands and noticed the bottom right corner looks spider cracked as if something is stressing that area while driving (you can only install these one way due to the fitment pins as many of you know).

Waiting to see what Morimoto wants to do with the very expensive tail lights that frankly are not well designed.20230816_160135.jpg 20230816_160135.jpg 20230816_160049.jpg 20230816_160049.jpg 20230816_160143.jpg

Yeah that's pretty awful. They definitely need to clean up the design a TON especially at the price point they are selling it for.

Wow, I'm in the process of purchasing a 2021 and was looking at these tail lights but after reading this thread, I think I'll keep my $650 and save myself some headaches.

I could see this happening with $200 taillights on eBay, but these should be better.

All set they line up very good and I can see changes where the tabs are. They also moved where the resistor gets screwed in from the bottom to the top.
They also sent me a email not to over tighten them. Hopefully these last as I like them a lot.

Headlight Revolution and Morimoto were excellent to work with.
