My tester arrived today and it clearly showed exhaust gas in the cooling system. I was already pretty sure but wanted to confirm before planning the rebuild. My neighbor and good friend told me to gather all the parts needed and he would do the job in his shop. In the past I have been told to use only "TOYOTA" parts. I would like any recommendations as to what to use or avoid as far as gaskets seals etc. Thank's, John.

Nice neighbor! Welcome from OKC! While in there, I would do a starter, water pump, timing chain and tensioners, probably some Manley valve springs, maybe even a Hewitt secondary air pump bypass kit. Just so much easier while in there. Good luck!

Asin parts are equivalent to OEM parts, just not Amazon Aisin, that's a 50/50 getting counterfit parts. Starter is not in the valley on the 5.7.... If they're pulling the engine or lifting the body, then I would agree since it's tucked under the passenger side exhaust manifold.

Thank's, they are pulling the engine so everything should be easier. The Hewitt bypass kit is already installed.

Thank's, and they are pulling the engine. This is a black Sequoia and if funds allow we may be doing a color change at the same time.
