After driving my truck for 2 months she likes it, but doesn't want a truck. Sequoia fits the bill nicely.

 

Sounds like more than a balance issue. Check the front LCA bushings and give it ye old ball joint test.

i tried, showed him the goods, emphasized the yamaha. Even tried talking him into building an sho wagon or windstar. Even a push-me/pull-me awd wet weather car. He's down to help convoy dollies on weekends with enough warning.

 

Looking at the pic I'd check the front right rim, it might be full of beer caps if she's been using it for a bottle opener.

 

When i show up grandma can get most of the way through a daiquiri.

I just recently bought some a few weeks back. Been a long time since I've had any. Got to buy it in NH though. None sold in MA.

 

My bad guys. These are only 3 ton stands and will more than likely be shorter than the 6 ton stands. I'll leave the links in case someone looking for some cheap double lock stands.

Part number basically identical to Torin. I’m guessing same warehouse, different stickers again.

 

Any timing belt records? I'd put ball joints on that list unless you've got solid proof of OE replacement.

I bought those stands through Amazon and just returned them today for a few different reasons.
- Box was taped excessively
- Box damaged when delivered by UPS, holes and could see the product inside
- Product was damaged w/ scratched, paint missing, one handle didn't function right
- Missing one of the bars for the double lock feature.
- Jack stands didn't feel like great quality therefore not trusting them with my life.

Returned those and bought these instead.

Anyone else running the HF OffRoad Jack? Just got mine and seems nice enough. Figured the stock Jack won’t cover me with the lift and weight I have.

Nothing against you but I just don’t understand the draw or necessity for these “off road” floor jacks. All flats I’ve had, which have mostly if not only been offroad, have been changed by a bottle jack. I’m always able to place the bottle jack under the pumpkin or under a lca. Takes up less space, weighs less and more maneuverable. Granted I have to lay on the dirt but I need to anyways to unlock the spare. Most recent was in the middle of Death Valley:

 

I was at HF today and looked at that off road jack. Doesn’t look convenient at all, that mofo was huge! Might have a place in a shop environment with screwed up concrete or something. Guess you have a camper to toss it in though

 

I agree on a shop with a shitty floor but the tiny camper only has a payload of 800lbs. Not gonna waste 73# on a floor jack. Rather have the 8ish gallons of water.

 

Yeah, I ordered one, received it, picked it up (oof!) and returned it. I've had great results with my high lift bottle jack from Tractor Supply. I love a floor jack for home repair, but once I lifter it, I realized it's not necessary off-road.

I like borrowing my neighbor's for driveway work though; the wheels are not as hellaciously loud as the metal wheels on my floor jacks. Could be worth the money, for some people, just for that!

Bottle jack here too. It fits in the little storage cubbies under the rear seat. I can see how the HF jack is more convenient but I don't want to give up that much space.

 

I didn't see anything in the engine bay about it. I'll pop the cover and check. Everything will get a solid once over when we get it home. Yeah, she's been paying for gas in my truck since she got it.

She went from working at old navy making shit to a CNA making $20 an hour so she's making good money considering she lives with me. She's paying for this herself with cash. I'm pretty proud of her.

 

Hell, if nothing else when she's done with it I might take it and see about a rear axle swap or something to get those rear disks on my truck. We can't let @des2mtn be the only rear disk tundra!

I get the space savings with a bottle jack and that makes sense. But those of us with 8’ beds have what might be considered a plethora of space, particularly at the front of the bed. I’m running a pretty compact bin right now, could go to a bigger one if I wanted to. Still plenty of room for the bow of my tandem kayak in the corner next to it. Don’t even really need to remove it for dump transport either. The bin holds tie down straps, sockets and once I have a 3/4 impact it’ll go in that tools bin. Then torque wrench and breaker bar if out for a trip, maybe at some point I’ll get duplicates of those. Possibly a second spare in the bed too or both spares in the bed and none underneath. And then some random rope, might add a triangle and flares, fuses.

Then the idea is, that bin is quick and easy to move to any other truck bed if needed. So I could take it in the ‘16 too if I wanted to.

Weight is a very valid point, bottle has an advantage there too. But my fat pig is 5500 and has a completely unnecessary winch. This is the truck I’m least concerned about weight and fuel efficiency and most concerned about capability and user friendly. I personally find floor jacks rather useful compared to bottle jacks, just faster and easier. Shoot, already used my shop floor jack to get the house deck a bit more level and stable and block out some posts, a bottle jack there would have been slower.

I once saw a roadside repair with shop jack and impact done really quickly. I definitely see how this HF jack may be more useful on road than off. But that suits me. It seems ideal for roadside repair.

So maybe I’ll pick up some beefier bottle jacks too. I just don’t have much faith in the OEM jack working out on the Tundra and minimal faith it’s safe for the ‘16 Tacoma. So I wanted my mobile repair kit to be full featured. I also like that the extension can be bolted in place and looks fairly beefy. So I can potentially jack to the frame or a slider in a controlled situation if I need to.

The Tacoma, being a DC, does have space for a bigger bottle Jack under the rear seat. Suggestions on brands?

My ‘05 really doesn’t have any extra space. So hopefully the stock jack has adequate reach. If not then I call for help and someone brings me the big boy truck or at least the bin.
