What have you done to your 2.5 gen Tundra today?

What kind of prep is required?

 

Keeping in mind that it was an experiment, i didnt want to do anything that would damage the OEM piece. All I did was a wipe down with denatured alcohol x2.
I sprayed 2, maybe 3 coats with the matte finish, Let it dry overnight and reinstalled in the truck with all the trim in the morning. I figured it would need touch up, but here we are almost 2 years down the road and it's doing great.

Got her wrapped matte black, ceramic coated, and re-tinted ceramic, 5% rear, 15%front, 35%windshield

 

My stomach isn’t feeling it… this is going to require a few cold ones.

I am so very glad I have not been infected with the dechrome/degloss disease. LOL

 

When I see chrome on a truck, it gives me the same feeling as when I see a 3rd Gen Tundra. Yuck!

 

Lol..when I see any 3rd gen, I'm like WTF lol.

 

I wonder what it would be like on the speedometer plastic cover. There is only a few more spots where the sun reflects off of... I am getting there

 

Me personally I would not try it on there. Maybe find one in the junk yard and test it?

Ya it would probably make it impossible to see your cluster when the light hit it. On the bright side tho, the reflection would be gone!

I don't think I could do that on anything that didnt already look like a stepped on can that someone tried to straighten back out.
