Not at all. I was actually just wondering yesterday where my tundra ended up. Also wonder where the outback is. And the frontier. And the Miata. Don't care at all where the passport is lol.

I’m guessing my last F150 got wholesaled after spending months on the dealer lot. It could be anywhere. Don’t care about the Explorer. My F350 was sent to AK. I would like to see my old GMC 2500 again. Don’t care about anything else in my past except for my first car. A 1979 El Camino!

I'd love to reconnect with my mom's 76 CJ5, and my 70 Mach I. The rest are all scrap metal by now.

The 70 Mach I was bought by a Ferrari guy. He brought an album of his work when he picked up my car.

I'm sure it was reworked into a Barrett-Jackson quality piece.

I just did my weekly poke around the New Posts list. I really should adventure out more as I'm sure there are some great threads on this forum, but I just don't have the patience to dig through the slim. People just want to soap box, even if their issue isn't related to the question asked.

Reminds me of one of my favorite phrases: Never argue with an idiot. They drag you down to their level and then beat you with experience.

C'mon man, you have to at least pop in an oil thread now and then. It's truck forum tradition. Everyone should post at least something.

WTF is the Jackery powering!? Letting someone tune your truck with whatever’s powered by that is straight balls. Not sure I’d run the risk of bricking my truck using one of those things.

Here’s how easy it is to be a tuner

Pay around $600 upfront for the materials. Charge $3-400 for a tune to the customer. Tune license per vehicle runs about $175-250 depending on the brand/physical tuner used. You (as the tuner) have no responsibility to manage or create new tunes, you just have to get out in front of the customer.

Oh, I've posted in those for as long as I've been on the internet. They all go the same way:

Question: I want to run this engine forever, should I use xW-xx...OR...I drove a delivery van in high school, so I know way more than all the engineers at Toyota, so I think we should run xW-xx because <insert conspiracy>.
Now, the statement is in a form of a question, but in reality the OP just wants to find his clan of oil monkeys.

Response 1: My truck has 250,000 miles per the maintenance schedule on the recommended oil. Use what Toyota says you should use.
This is ignored b/c it isn't the answer the OP wants to hear.

Response 2: (my typical response). I've done a ton of used oil sample testing across a variety of vehicles and never seen a difference in wear and tear. Use whatever you want as long as it meets the OEM spec. There's a ton of research you can do on BITOG regarding your oil and truck.
This is also ignored b/c it isn't the answer the OP wants to hear plus it requires them to do actual research...that's not what the internet is for.

Response 4: Oil is cheap; engines are expensive. Buy the 10,000 mile Amsoil superkul stuff and change the oil every 3,000 miles just to be sure.
This response is a mixed bag. The first sentence is accurate, but is idiot-linked to justify the second sentence. The OP probably gets a chub at this point that they're on the right track to finding a response that justifies their position.

Response 4: Big gubmit and the Sierra Club mandate what oil we can use. I have a cousin with a ex-girlfriend that claims it's all run by the middle east.
Even if #4 doesn't recommend anything, the OP feels confirmed and justified.

It's a this point that nice people like @GODZILLA try to insert logic by asking simple questions...and the battle is on. I'm typically trying to formulate a response like "Well, starches occur naturally in oil and while they can score the inside of the cylinder wall they're too small to get caught in the oil filter. I put 3 tablespoons of olive oil into the mix with each oil change. The olive oil, being organic, bonds with the starches and forms molecular chains just long enough to be picked up by oil filters."

350K means my house and truck are both paid off with enough left over for a decent bump to my kid's college fund. I'd still have to work, but with no debt I could work when I want doing what I want which would mean more time spent with my daughter. That mortgage and truck payment would become savings, which would end up being a nice retirement and comfortable nest egg to hand down to my daughter.

Now, if we're talking pulling the pin on work entirely and living an active and fun life based on a 4% per year draw down of invested funds, then I'd agree that 3mil is the number to aim for.

Did I miss something that recently happened with jackery? Reason I ask is I am subscribed to many many people on YouTube and a large majority of them use jackeries and love them

Not that I've seen. I've got a few units for cell phones that are 6+ years old and work great. I just would never trust something like that if it was the only thing powering the computer that was reprogramming my truck. One bad cell or "Well, I swear it was at 50%" could mean dead truck.

Funny story kind of related...I listen to business podcasts from the Economist. They recently did a show about how aviation is trying to decarbonize. The reporter visited a small charter company (I think in the UK) to get a flight on the first all-electric airplane certified in Europe. Two minutes after takeoff one of the two batteries overheats and goes INOP. I've never had goosebumps so tall as when I heard the pilot call PAN PAN and declare an emergency.

Reporter said something like "So we're going back?"
Pilot "Yeah, have to return to the airport"
Reporter "What happens if we loose the second battery?"
Pilot "Well, the airplane has pretty good glider characteristics"

    oof...

BTW, declaring a MAYDAY means shit is fucked right now. Calling PAN means we're one bad thing away from shit being fucked. Either way everyone else gets moved out of your way, you get priority landing and probably greeted by emergency services upon your (hopefully safe) return to earth.
