Jokes on you...I work from home in a t-shirt in the winter. If I wait long enough, it will melt...and contribute to my never ending water table allowing me to leave my shower on the whole time while showering for as long as I want. Then go water my lawn whether it needs it or not, any time of the year.

 

If any of you over 50 types are contributing to the 401K Catch-up program, you may want to research changes coming in 2024...

 

I am always shocked when they talk about average savings and average 401k account balances. I have no idea how any of these people can even consider future retirement with so little saved.

EDIT: Also life insurance. Too many stories of tag sales and collections to bury folks.

 

Close to the house?

 

It's only single digits for a few weeks. Then it's double digits.... below zero. If I could find somewhere where it never got colder than 40° and never hotter than 72° with reasonable rain and little wind, I might be tempted to move. Trouble would be finding a job and a place there.

 

Hawii is about as close as your going to get to that. Hope you enjoy...

 

Nope. Have to be able to own guns and land too. Also, hard pass on coastal stuff because of the tsunamis, typhoons, and hurricanes. I like Wyoming, Montana, Idaho, and Utah. Fewest natural disasters of the 50 states.

 

Don't like the ultra stable economy and growth from fiscally conservative policies?

To be clear, it's too hot in most of UT for me, but some rural spots are hidden gems.

We get it all here in Eastern WA, -15 up to 110 in the summer.
Just when I'm about sick of one season, it changes to the next.

Congrats on dodging the bullet there, too. Not sure I could do all the international travel. I think my guts would exit my ass with the cuisine of some of the places you go.

Too hot for me. I'm dying if it's over 80, and we get enough of that in Wyoming that I certainly don't want to go somewhere hotter. If it were 9 months of the high temps not being above 72° and not colder than 35° then I might be able to stand 3 months of summer with temps in the 80s-90s. Triple digits can fuck off.
