We know many of you have our Cat protection plates. Several of you have our Front skid plate, and now we are finishing out the set with the Transfer Case Plates.

A few notes about the transfer case plates. There are 4 different variations on the tundra we have found so far on the frame holes. We are pretty sure we have this figured out, but there might be another variant lurking around we do not know about yet. We have test fit the Crew Max Truck and that seems to be the most popular version out there. We have the parts for a double cab ready to go, and are hoping to test a Sequoia and Hybrid truck later this week!

We are also able to release our full skid package as well now!

We have a lot of other things we are working on for the Tundra, including a fuel tank skid. What else do you want to see us make?

    I

know the Cat plate will work on a 2wd truck. I am pretty sure the Front plate will too but have not tested it. Not sure about the transfer case plate.

I have been creeping on your engine skid for a week or so now. Trying to convince myself to make my bank account look even worse than it already does...

How about something to block the daylight from the bed spacer in the rear fender liners. I’d definitely get those.

Does this skid have a hatch to allow replacing the oil filter without pulling the whole thing off? Photo here shows what looks like a hatch but on the ordering page not.

Is it possible to keep my TRD skid and bolt your Trans and transfer skid to it?

100%. You will need to slightly bend the TRD hanger tab down though to install it!

Will I still be able to remove the skid to get to the oil pan or will both skids needs to be dropped?

The Transmission skid uses a hanger bolt on the very front. It allows you to pull the TRD pro skid down without the transmission skid being removed. There is a post about it on here that I need to find.

This post has some good photos on the issue at hand.

Here is a unofficial copy of the new install guide that is a work in progress.

    2022 Tundra Transmission Install Guide
    upload_2023-7-28_10-58-42.png

    Tools Required

    7/32 Allen Wrench

    5MM Allen Wrench

    9/16 Wrench

    Bit Driver

    1. Gather all tools and supplies. Ensure truck is lifted and security placed on jack stands or ramps per users’ preference.

    2. When installing with TRD pro plate, remove TRD pro plate at this time and set aside.

    upload_2023-7-28_10-58-49.png

    3. Locate the two M8 pre threaded holes. Clean out holes to ensure that the included M8 bolts will thread in easily.

    4. Located the through hole on the engine cross member on the passenger side. Take the 3/8-16X4” bolt and install through this hole. You will use a fender washer and nylon lock nut on top, and a fender washer on the bottom. THE DRIVERS SIDE ALSO HAS A THROUGH BOLT. DO NOT INSTALL A BOLT THROUGH THIS HOLE AS IT IS VERY CLOSE TO THE DRIVE SHAFT AND DAMAGE CAN OCCURE.
    upload_2023-7-28_10-58-57.png

    5. You can use this hanger bolt to help support the front of the plate. Install the rear of the plate with the included 3/8-16x4” button head bolts. The holes are highlighted in the image above.

    upload_2023-7-28_10-59-4.png
    6. Now that the three hanger bolts are installed. You can install the M8x1.25X40mm bolts into the two front holes of the plate. Do this before tightening down the other three bolts to ensure they are lined up. If Installing with the TRD pro plate, you will want to put in the two M8 bolts, tighten the other three bolts and then remove the two M8 bolts to install the TRD pro plate front plate. Be sure to shift the transmission plate to the drivers’ side as far as possible when installing.

These are not thought out well. Hardware quickly gets corroded. And the oil hole does not line up at all. Oil goes everywhere. They told me just buy a different oil plug with drain. What a load of crap. Build your stuff better and test it out.
