Ours is 10 cents. It really isn't costing much. I saved up all our bottles for 3 years and only got $55 back. Hardly seems worth it.

Ya ours is 5 cents. I used to save them up and take the grandson to the redemption center every few months but like you say 10-15 bucks just isn't worth the time or sticky mess

Odd. Mine didn't have holes there. I'd definitely get those covered. They'll rust from the inside out if you don't.

I throw our empties in the trash.

1. I don't have the time or desire to go the bottle depot and rub shoulders with the proles, trailer trash and bums for few lousy bucks.

2. I don't have space I want to give up to bags full of empties.

3. We don't actually drink alot of canned or bottled beverages, so it would take years to get any noteable amount of money back.

4. Most importantly, throwing empties in the trash pisses off a certain demographic and this makes me smile.

I'd give them to the Scouts if they actually came around. I think there was a hockey team doing a bottle drive one time but they didn't drop a flyer in my mailbox; I just found one blown into my yard a couple weeks after the drive.

 

That seems to be every manufacturer's MO the last 20 years or so.

 

I would donate to the Scouts but they don't come around. I dunno if they even have them here.

Back a number of years ago when we were moving out of one rental into another, we'd been stockpiling cans and bottles for a couple years but never got around to taking them back. I was just commenting to The Woman that we had about 12 bags in the crawlspace to get rid of when the doorbell rang. It was an Army cadet doing a bottle drive. Made his day as we loaded his dad's pickup with all the bags and solved my problem at the same time.

Haven't saved cans since then though and haven't heard of any Scouts or cadets doing bottle drives since either.

 

I dont know dick about Connecticut. Maine axed the NH registrations a few years back because people who lived on the border would get PO Boxes in NH and register their vehicles there to avoid paying the atrocious sales tax and reg fees in Maine.

 

I suppose it has been a long time since I was in Scouts.

I cut off PA from Lake Erie, but I gave them access to the Atlantic. Hershey will have to make a few adjustments.
I consolidated a few things, pretty self-explanatory. I'll round up all the extreme leftists, nazi socialists, politicians and lawyers and ship them to Taxachusetts. They can write all the laws they want and tax each other to death. Have fun.
They can vote on a new name if they like, but no one will really care or acknowledge them. Anyone wanting to relocate west to America is more than welcome. But you'll have to be vetted to make sure you don't actually belong there.
And obviously, the new capital will be my house.

No caulk. It's a double wide with linoleum flooring. Nothing fancy.

Toilet is older than I am. The leak is from a mounting bolt, not the gasket.
