Happened to us too. Ppl dumped animals near our house since we lived just outside the town limits. Cats were nearly always pregnant. The kittens sometimes crawled up into the fan shroud of the Oldsmobile.

I'll never forget what one incident looked like...the kitten wasn't dead either. Sticks in my mind to this day.

We have feral cats at work I always honk my horn before I start my engine, so far it has seemed to work. Our office manager has got three or four over the past year I don't know why she refuses to just honk before she starts.

Yup. Cats like warm places. Recommend you tap the horn before starting.

Added Startx remote start and car link cell module. 30 minute install but still brutal in this AZ heat. At least the truck will be cooler after work going forward.

I'd like to know how it ends up working out for you. I'm looking for something with longer range and won't shut off when I open the door. What's the app that it uses?

it’s just called carlink on Apple or Google, takes about 15 seconds to start up, maybe 5 seconds or so to lock the doors. Used it inside the grocery store while checking out to get the AC going before heading outside.

Gross. Previous owner probably forgot this existed and needed to be changed. That's the cabin filter, and that square mass of leaves is what came out of it when I dropped it on the ground.

Now I need to figure out if I can spray cleaner on the evaporator directly with the blower fan removed.

my used 2017 (with physical key) came with a remote start by “code alarm”. It works pretty well, truck starts and keeps running no matter what until you tap the brake.

you hit the fob- It’s running, you get in, turn the key to on and it just stays running. You can press the remote three times while it’s running and pull the key out and it will keep running as well. image.jpg

Appreciate the info. Mine was installed at the port. It's been fine all these years but I primarily want more distance to start it.

yeah, on second thought I can’t find much about codealarm on google. Seems like a janky fly-by-night company or a Chinese Amazon special. I actually was mulling over removing it but the internet points to me having to pay >$100 to have that done, ugh. I tried it once mashing the button in different combos because it came with no instruction -truck wouldn’t turn over. Even with the key for a short time after. Engine was trying and making noise. No other instances at all. truck is dead reliable so know it had something to do with the remote start system. That’s only happened once so I’ll keep it for now.

C4 Fabrication Hybrid front bumper so I can have a winch. Then sliders, belly pan, two lockers with 5.29's, 37s, etc. I always though this truck was too large to build into a wheelin rig, but it proves me wrong every time we take it out

Ask @Cruzer about wheelin' full size lol.

Nice list. A front bumper helps alot, even without a giant lift, it feels like the truck is lifted significantly more with the clearance and the angle improvement.

Long time TW member. First post here:
Over the weekend I installed 5100s on middle setting. .5” CB shim on each side. 285/75r18 Toyo r/t trail. Removed mud flaps. Plenty of clearance on the front. So far lost less than 1mpg. Can’t really tell a diff in power. Dropped off At the shop for an alignment today. So far so good.

Yeah I’ve been gobbling up full size content like it’s going out of style. Once the credit card cools off from buying a new house it’ll be all aboard the trail whale train

I’m originally from the same area as him and wheeled many of the same trails on his build thread in my old FJ and Tacoma. I thought it was rowdy in those rigs :anonymous:

I think it's entirely more challenging to do it in a full sized rig.

Without a doubt. But now I’m a big kid with a family and dogs, so I’m more than happy to have a little extra size on the trails if the whole gang can pile in.
