Lane hoggers

This makes me get pissed. Why take the left lane if you aren’t passing.

this is at 3:14 and it’s a Sunday. I shouldn’t have to pass on the right but the left is all taken…

Lots of places have left lane laws, and even signs that will say so, or tell you to get right except to pass.

Most people ignore that. Its rarely a fined thing in the places there are laws.

Are you driving an ambulance? On your way to a fire? Rushing someone to the ER? Passing on the right is as ill-advised as mindlessly putting a long in the passing lane.
If where you were going and what you were doing were more important than where everyone else was going, then you'd have sirens and flashing lights on your vehicle and you could've stayed in the left lane and made them all get out of your way.

 

Are you one of the idiot left lane hogger? As you can tell from the picture there is barely anyone in the right lane other then that vehicle that so happened to get in front of me.

 

Passing on the right is dangerous. At this point in the conversation, I feel it's safe to assume that I've been driving as long or longer than you've been alive. I don't cruise along in the passing lane at the speed limit. I use the passing lane to pass. I also don't use the far right lane to pass. I'll explain why, if you tell where you where going and what you were doing that was so much more important than everyone and everything else that you had to pass everyone on the right.

 

And for the record, I HATE people who putt along in the left lane. I bitch about it all the time.

 

I wouldn’t have to pass on the right if there is no left lane hog.

everyone had places to be. There’s no reason to hog the left lane and go with the flow of traffic but if there’s a cop everyone moves.

 

I find a few of these people are jerks who
Know what they do and don't Care but so many more are genuinely oblivious to this rule. When you pass them They're staring ahead with their Mouths open staring into space like they don't even really Know where they are.

 

I find these lane whining threads and the responses hilarious. In Wyoming you can drive and pass in any lane as long as it's safe to do so. Sure, we generally stick to the right, but it's also perfectly fine to pass the guy in the left lane on his right.

I am a 5 over the speed limit kinda guy so that definitely puts me in the right hand side of things. That being said, on the occasion I'm speeding or passing someone, I'll momentarily be in the most left hand lane and it never fails that there's a dipsh1t going 100 who feels the need to either tailgate me or cut out to the left (shoulder or HOV) to see why I'm not immediately letting him by. Unfortunately, that makes me have to go a tad slower to ensure I'm making a proper lane change.....

Side note: HOV lane passers should be shot on site

I agree with this. I will pass anyone anywhere when it is clear enough to do so. The exception that I do take is when I am cruising in the clear left lane passing all the nice people to my right, and up ahead I see that one guy that just MUST be in the left lane as soon as he merges on the freeway. He enters the freeway almost causes 3 accidents with his incredible triple lane change, then camps in the left lane at 5 under... I would like to have words with such people but it would not lead anywhere useful so

 

Would piss me off too.

Utah may be the absolute worst state for this. There will be a mile of dumb shits in the left lane. I pass on the right all the time, only if the left lane is occupied which just happens to be 90% of the time. And if I pass I immediately get back into the right lane.

Honestly here in Utah if they reversed the law so the left lane was for not passing, I would bet money more people would end up driving correctly without knowing it.

 

In all seriousness, I think it's really bad everywhere.
-people are terrible at driving
-there's too many people.
-it's too easy to get a license.
-there's too many people.
