Well it's a done deal, I'll be running the Bilstein 8112/8100s come September with upgraded leaf springs and all supporting equipment. I feel this was my best choice for my application. Tundra for life. Looking to get the most out of my truck for as long as possible

That's the way it should be. Good to hear you aren't putting the miles on your truck without compensation.

Tundra's have a good record for durability except for the front driver side needle bearing at the CV axle/diff and the rear leaf pack has a habit of going flat. Both of these problems are plaguing me at this moment. If you start to notice a growling sound accompanied by a mild grating felt through the steering wheel and pedals you likely have a failing needle bearing. If this does happen don't replace the bearing. Replace it with a bushing that is made by ECGS. There are multiple threads discussing it here. Even if it is under warrantee I would still go the bushing rout.

The Tundra has a pretty flat leaf pack and it doesn't take much to wear them out. I put a few hundred pounds of ready mix bags in the bed of my truck a few weeks back and 3 days ago hauled a trailer to the dump that put about 500 pounds on the trailer hitch and now the rear of my truck won't come up off the overloads so I will be replacing them as soon as I figure out what is best for me. I even have the heavy duty leaf pack with the extra leaf and over load and it still went flat. I was maybe a little heavy with 12- 90 pound bags of ready mix in the bed but that is only 1080 plus tools so about 1200 pounds. That's barely over half a ton. But they are done.

I’m a dipshit and replied to an earlier post before reading the whole thing.
The Billies will be great for your use case. I was gonna say you definitely want digressive valving and as much shock oil as you can get for the heat soak of long washboard lease roads. Good choice (although I’m partial to Icon myself, the concepts are similar between the brands).

It's all good brother. I didn't want to make a short cut in the longevity of my yota, so I went the route that seemed like the best for my application. Good looking out

Thanks brother, that is info i was unaware of. I roll empty on the lease roads and any time I'm carrying any kind of weight is straight pavement.

Wasn’t sure if anyone had mentioned the new Fox performance elite dsc series by accutune….longer intervals for rebuilding and a better shock body…also they do their tuning for your style driving …oh yea and rebound/compression clickers for added weight or making some tweaks.
I’m not quite ready yet to replace mine yet (29k miles) but that kit was high on my list
A lot of great options out there

Yeah that's the first iv heard about those shocks, but it's a done deal already. Iv already put in my order for the Bilstein 8112s and 8100s along with their UCAs and Icon Rxt leaf pack with added leaf and all supporting equipment. Got with Colton over at Hotshot Offroad and he got me rolling in the direction that best suited my needs.

I'm looking forward to a long term review on the Icon leaf packs. I've heard a mix on them so far. Hope they hold up well for you!

I'll definitely let the group know iw how yheu work out for me. I run on the lease roads empty and only loaded with family luggage on vacation and road trips with the fam. I feel ill be OK with the Icon leafs, if not, I'll upgrade when necessary to the Devers.

I’m also thinking about the 8112s and 8100s. I’m waiting for them to release the DSA+ version although it is my understanding that the current available version will be upgradeable to the DSA.

I’m looking forward to your review.

Watching with interest, I want to go with the same combo. Sick of these wash boards getting up into the grouse hunting areas.

Have you heard of any mention of the time frame for the Tundra DSA+ release? I've been trying to find out, but no luck.

Only thing I read from Bilstein was from 2 weeks ago that the Tundra DSA version will be even better than the current 8112/8100 and will be available in the very near future.

Cry once, get Deavers off the bat. Icon's need the soft ass bushings replaced with poly bushings before installing. That being said, they're not bad at all, just good enough.

I’m sure they meant our gen because it was in reference to a testing video on the current 8112 for our gen.

Nothing yet. I anticipate them to be "available" in November-ish, but shipping after that into the turn of the year. I know for a fact they won't be out within the next month anyway. Won't know for sure until about a month before official release.

Thanks for the update, Colton. My irresponsible side 100% wants to go this route.

For most people, they'll probably never adjust anything.

Me, I come from the motocross world. I'm always f'n with my suspension looking for improvements on bikes. I'm sure I'll be doing the same on my truck.
