Sounds a lot like how it was for me when I moved to Dallas for the first time.

A buddy of mine was going to school for computer science and even though his parents had money, he wanted to make it on his own so he got a 1 bdrm "townhome" for $450/mo.

This place was so bad that when it rained the roof leaked and the plaster on the ceiling would bubble up. One of these gigantic bubbles was right over my PC (we moved it downstairs after that). The carpet would get soaked and we'd have to lean the mattress against the wall to dry it out. We stole wifi from the hotel next door but the only spot we could get a signal was on the can with the wifi adapter draped over the shower curtain rod (laptop).

Oh and the hookers outside were real friendly. My first night there I took the trash out to the dumpster but was startled when I chucked it in and a guy got mad cause it hit him.

After I started getting some paychecks we really started livin- we got our own internet and the LAN parties commenced!

We had a $700/m 2 bedroom with no insulation under the kitchen/ bathroom. Taking a dump in the winter was an experience. We had dial up. Two 14.4 modems but only 1 phone line. Internet wasn't really much of a thing unless you wanted to read message boards.

I love it when they add pretty characters to a video game, instead of some school lunch lady. Art in this game as a whole is gorgeous!

I have this save in RDR2 just as you get down from the mountain and arrive to horseshoe overlook(Ch2). Everyone is in great mood, we lost the law in the blizzard and new place is full of opportunities. We did lose a few folk in Blackwater ferry robbery, but it's all behind us now.

In my opinion, this is the best chapter overall, because when you get further into chapter 3, things begin to go downhill and situation gets more desperate and depressing. (I won't spoil the details for those who haven't played it.)

Just took down The Butcher with my sorcerer (L54 on WT3) in Diablo 4. I happened to be testing out a new shock build that I'd been tweaking, and sure enough I get attacked by the bastard. But this time I was able to wail on him with this build. Didn't take long to take him down. Shock is no joke with the sorcerer, the build just decimates.

RDR2 is a great game with some godawful parts mixed in. The other two you mentioned are damned near perfect though. The DLC for both Witcher and Ghosts are excellent also.

In the spirit of keeping this thread alive, please elaborate, gang! Btw, I tried doing playthrough without using deadeye and it's a totally different game re:difficulty! All of a sudden, you're not some Arthur Morgan legendary shooter, but rather, a simple "EmergencyMaximum"...

Plaid on PC btw, so there was no aim assist. It's all skill, gang.(which I lack)

Had 2 more run-ins with The Butcher. I'm 3 for 4 on him now. I really wish he'd just leave me alone and let me explore lol. But the real problem is if I'll ever stop playing Diablo IV anytime soon. :p

Without spoiling the story, there’s just some points where it’s a total slog for a while. The first bit in the snow is boring as hell, and towards the end it really seemed like they were artificially extending the length of the game a bit.
Don’t get me wrong, it’s a fantastic game. There’s just some “filler” in my opinion. It was completely unnecessary and took me out of the story. I’d absolutely recommend it to anyone who hasn’t played it though. I still think I like the previous one better though.

Yeah, it does seem to be more of an issue the further you get. I’m at level 52 and I rarely get anything that’s above level 45.

@War Machine , oh my I loved the snow part! I was "ooh and aah" at how gorgeous and spectacular it looked! Perhaps it's just me, because I don't mind slogging around here and there.

Hey, have you heard of kingdom come: deliverance? Another spectacular game in my opinion, but it made a lot of folks angry with combat and lots of talking in cutscenes. It's based on actual events in history during 14th century Bohemia.

It's that damn chain-pull thing that he does that's devastating. I cheesed my 2nd run, too, but I also happened to end up next to an electricity shrine thing in the middle of that 2nd fight, which really helped. Since then I learned from my mistakes to not get too far from him. Fortunately I poured everything I could into barriers, and have about 5 different ways to get one. Literally by the time I cycle through them another 2 are ready. Vulnerability really helps, too. So I can just stand there and tank him now and not have to care about that frickin chain.

I started the Diablo 4 new season last night. The consensus seems to be to play on WT1 and just skip WT2 because the rate at which you can take out enemies is faster, resulting in faster leveling (literally 1 to 2 hit kills on non-elites/bosses). I think it took me less than a 1/2 hour to get to L13 last night. Let's see how long it lasts before they nerf that, too lol.

    Sucks.

I read they also nerfed the ice skills for sorcerer. Fortunately I switched and have been playing shock the past week or so which seems to still be ok, apart from the increase to damage required on enemies so they're harder to kill, and I think they also deal more damage.

I also can spam barriers, but it seems like they're less resistant to damage now, probably also due to the above so the barriers don't last as long.
