    Highland will be the first time the 3 has some exterior changes, in addition to interior improvements

    Anyone got a model 3?

    found a white RWD model 3 new for 37.5k in inventory locally using the referral link. After evaluating and with our school year starting a csr really would meet bare requirements so with the cheap price and full tax credit eligible I was curious. I know it’s not as roomy as the MY, but is the model 3 good for someone 6’3”?

    80% of the time for longer trips I rent just because I’m ocd or fly so with 279 mile range long road trips wouldn’t be a huge concern

    Yes. Close to my height and have no issues with my model 3. However if you're that tall, don't expect anyone to sit directly behind you. Rear middle and rear passenger spots are fine though, even with your driver seat leaned back.

    Edit: go to a Tesla showroom and try it out yourself. I'm also very wide and still have no issue.

    Sounds like a hell of a deal with the tax credit!

    I'm 6'0, I fit in my car with plenty of room to spare (headroom and legroom). As mentioned earlier, the back seats are tight. Whenever I have someone back there, I have them sit behind the passenger seat and whoever is shotgun moves the seat forward. Behind the driver seat is uncomfortable and I'm not moving unless its a very short trip.

    I just road tripped my M3P (315 miles of range) from Minneapolis, MN to Elkhart Lake, WI (6 hours). No issues with the amount of charging infrastructure Elon has setup. I opted to stop 3 times, even though the car suggested 2 stops. I figured an extra stop would be a nice break and allow for quicker stops overall. Easy trip!

    Shouldn't be a problem. I borrowed a '19 M3 for a road trip last year, I'm 6'7" and my 9 y/o fit behind me fine. Not enough room for an adult though.

    Whatever this forum told me to do
    Let's do math.
    Tesla = 77%
    Chevy = 8%
    Ford = 5%
    Rivian = 4%
    VW = 4%
    Hyundai = 3%

    see, it's tough for Tesla to see 2nd place.

    the free market is awesome.

    Tesla is positioned to do quite well if other manufacturers throw their hands up and walk away, they're now using cashflow from the rest of the industry to fund expansion and development.

    Paywalled but you get the idea. As hard as the government is trying to shove people in this direction the market is starting to
    Make its feelings known, which is probably why some states are moving to outlaw ICE after a certain point. Companies with other divisions are going to start to have decisions to make in the foreseeable future. A Company that only does EVs that was already a sales leader and has a well established infrastructure is well positioned to ride it out. It's called competitive advantage.

    Agree.

    The scary part is when the "others" get propped up by Gov subsidies AGAIN.

    How will Gov carve out Tesla?

    If the goal is to sell EV's - albeit without free market demand - and Tesla sells EV's, how will they be punished.

    we live in interesting times.

    I think bad things will happen as we start to fill the SPR. Energy Co's are going to suffer. Price caps will be the talk of the town.

    Not to get too political but I think if things change next year mainstream auto companies will abandon this stuff quick and if not it's going to get interesting watching the feds look for ways to deal with a company owned by a guy they hate dominating an industry they want to prop up.

    There may be a certain degree of "Hold your fire" going on until 2025 and then it's on. And Musk probably knows full well there are strong headwinds approaching at that point.

    Checked out a M3 today. Spacious enough. I just need to decide if the step in/ out height of the Y is worth the $10k difference

    That was the killer for me, I had plenty of head and legroom though.
    I hope the Y is a big difference.

    Lived with that fingerprint magnet piano black for 6 months before finally getting it wrapped. Thankfully Tesla moved away from that in 2020 (or 2021)
