    "Muggles" that's cute.

Trust me, I understand and agree with the "Two is one, and one is none" credo.

But the spares are within reach so really doesn't apply here. I just can't figure out why anyone would want to make a perfectly good system more difficult to use for no apparent reason.

I would ask him, but I kinda' like the guy and I'm afraid if he told me his logic I'd always look at him differently.

I'm not sure how to explain it to you.....my life is full of things that are done before they need to be done just because you can never count on being able to do it when it actually needs to be done.

In the TP case, It doesn't matter.

But I would bet your co-worker was once military, fire, police, etc and it never even occurs to him to let something run out before replacing it.

Just seeing something nearing empty probably makes him feel mildly physically uncomfortable.

Within reach? Sure, but you have to sorta twist around and reach behind you. Who has time for that?

Some people cant turn or reach back when needed if extra roll is on tank behind them.

    Bonus points for accessibility.

They should have a TP magazine on the wall that holds 8 rolls.

One thing I'm a little proud of, is that I am always dead serious, but most people think I'm joking simply because so often they can't believe what I'm saying could possibly be real.

Its great for OPSEC, I don't have to make up a fake life.....I can be totally honest, and everyone just laughs and assumes its a joke or a brag or something. I just smile back and let them keep thinking that. :)

It does come with some downsides though. I get uncomfortable when my gas tanks is below 3/4s.....which owning a tundra, means about 20 miles of driving.

I don't own a toilet paper 'dispenser', but if I did, I would probably have three of them....instead I just have a stack of 48 rolls on the floor at all times....and in order for that to really be, 'at all times' that means when ever the first roll is taken out, you get a new unopened bale from the storehouse, and stick it below the first one.

Now that's an idea I could support, but let's make it 10.

This is CA so we're probably limited to 10.

This is a good point. Not to get too far into it, but my Dad was somewhat of a prepper - not the doomsday type, but it was not unusual for him to be out of power @ his house for like a WEEK or two when power went out where they lived. So I picked up some stuff from him.

February 2020 I sort of saw the writing on the wall, and bought some staples (e.g., 50# of flour, a few cases of toilet paper, etc.) A few months later we were not only just fine, but were able to gift people TP, make tons of loaves of bread to help them out, etc. (All while being fussed at for 'hoarding' despite having done it for a DECADE prior. lol)
