Yep. If you can tell it's a "country song", then it fits into a specific structure that's like 1000 other songs. I wouldn't call the Eagles "country". They were very talented musicians/songwriters and wrote a lot of great and original stuff. To me, they don't have a category. They're just the eagles.
If I turn on the radio and can't tell who it is because it sounds like 27 other bands/songs, it's crap and I change it.

Eagles kinda fall into the rock category for me. Better than pop, but not heavy like metal. Can't say I've heard anything of theirs that wasn't a single on the radio, but they're ok.
