Yes, the wife and I talk to him (and the daughter) about that stuff. Not to discourage it or push our ideals, but just to make sure he sees past the smoke screen.

Regarding the pics, we are at Fort Worden. More expansive than Fort Casey but they don’t have the old big guns here. Just a lot of the same structures. Casey, Worden and Fort Flagler are the triad of bases built to protect Puget Sound back in the very early 1900’s.

I've often thought about lining up every bulldozer in the country, shoulder to shoulder, in a line from north to south and just scraping the entire east coast off into the ocean.
A giant cat would be funnier though.

Still working on the logistics and cost effectiveness. Either coast you start at, you have to get the bulldozers over the mountains and to the other side to do the other coast. I'd have to do a recount, but I don't think there's enough dozers to do both coasts at once.
Perhaps scrape off the east coast and then explosives to break off the west coast?
Any of the internal cities that have turned into hippy breeding grounds (Denver, Austin, etc) might have to be cleansed a different way.
I'm working on it. They haven't appointed me chief of human population management yet, so I have some time.

I need a nap. I slept really well, but not long enough. I'm hoping I can have an early night tonight and sleep as well as I did last night.

I found something that's been helping, and I thought it was bunk when I first heard about it. Anyone in here ever use any of the different noise colors for stuff? Apparently brown noise is good for calming racing minds and promoting sleep, so I've been using pandora to pop up a brown noise track at low volume when I lie down. Absolutely bonkers, but I rarely make it through the 3 minute track. A few times I've been aware of the sudden stop as it changes tracks, but not much after.

I've always tossed and turned for a minimum of 30 minutes, but usually an hour or more when I go to bed. Falling asleep in minutes is just staggering for me.

Hard for me to fall asleep with a story going on. That, and the flashing lights of the scene changes keep me up.

Yeah, I had only ever heard of white noise, but apparently there's a whole slew of colors associated with different types of noise.

    Reinventing the wheel then. Nice.

I have 8-10 podcasts downloaded to my phone from Spotify that are 8 hour color noise episodes. The first 30 seconds is an ad from the “author” selling web services but after that they run without interruption. I prefer the rain or ocean wave episodes, but this guy does all kinds. Even space themes that sound like you’re on the Enterprise deck.

I actually listened to one this morning after posting here at 4am to get my mind to slow down.

Unless you had a run off, we will never know for sure. I did a run off with a limited Tundra CM 4wd the other day. I got him on the tree, and all his chrome made no difference. He still lost.

I used to have a LR before the M3P. The M3P is much quicker and has a quicker 0-60 time.

According to my wife, I create lots of brown noise while I'm sleeping.
I did try the noise stuff a few times. Both the little radio thing you leave on the nightstand and headphones. Also tried some of the ambient noise videos on the phone with headphones. Didn't seem to help much. Didn't relax me and didn't help me fall asleep any faster.
It's hard to sleep with headphones and if it's playing through an external speaker, it has to be so loud to even hear it that it's more annoying than relaxing.
I also have bad tinnitus, so I can't have it dead quiet, or the ringing keeps me awake. I usually fall asleep with the TV on for background noise.
What helps me most is to make sure I don't take any meds that affect sleep after 6 pm, even if I need them. Also, If I take the exact right amount of melatonin at the exact right amount of time before wanting to sleep (usually 1-2 hrs), that works well.
My biggest problem is remembering and sticking to a routine.

I'm eyeing these ones. All of them are really well reviewed. All the correct size, equal load ratings, etc. Tread depths, overall diameter, price, weight, and wear are the primary differences.

    upload_2023-7-13_10-10-37.png
    upload_2023-7-13_10-12-5.png

The Goodyear looks the best and has more tread depth, but wears faster according to testing. Also, not light and the lowest score for traction. No warranty.

If the Falkens in this size are similar to the ones I rocked on the Tundra the only downsides are a tendency to flat spot and being HEAVY. That weight does get you a bit larger diameter though. They also wear like effing iron. The ones on my Tundra had two years (roughly 20K-25K miles) on them and they still looked new when I traded it. 55K mile warranty.

The Pirellis are EXPENSIVE. They also get the larger diameter like the Falkens, but they do it while saving 4 pounds per corner. Tread wear is rated slightly lower though. They only have 2 reviews compared to the previous two having over 60. This makes the customer rating for these less valid. 50K mile warranty.

The BFGs are the lightest by a solid margin, have treadwear on par with the Falkens, and are rocking the longest warranty at 60K miles. Sadly, they have the least tread depth, very few reviews, and are the lamest looking tire of the group. I'm also hesitant after having very poor wet traction performance from my BFG KO2 tires on a previous truck.

I really wish I could just get on non original equipment version of the tires that came on the Taco, though. They've been great so far, and I imagine a slightly more robust version would be perfect. NGL, their performance makes me want to stick with a Goodyear as well.

I just looked it up and listened. Brown noise sounds and awful lot like the muffled sound of road/wind noise from inside a car. Maybe a little like wind noise inside an airliner. Maybe they got the idea from the fact that road trips put kids/people to sleep(?)

Wind noise or a river is the most common description for it. The lower pitch makes it more soothing for most than white noise (TV static) that usually has a hiss sound to it.

I picked up a bag of black Mexican beach stones for the greenhouse lady yesterday (the greenhouse at work).
It says made in China on the bag.
Soooo, they make them in China and ship them to Mexico to put on the beaches??
    WTF is happening?

My decision would be a tie between the Goodyear and Falken and the tiebreaker would be whichever was cheaper when I was ready to buy.

I just realized you accidentally typed in the wrong size though. You meant 265/75/16. It fills the wheel well a little better, looks a little nicer, and doesn't rub.
