New ‘23 Tundra Limited (non hybrid) owner for 5 days. I’ve noticed after driving and parking, and shifting to park the idle speed dips really low for about one second almost stalling the engine. After the dip it recovers to normal. No AC or anything else running. Anyone else notice this?

I can almost guarantee it is your auto start/stop trying to activate as you are shifting to park, once the truck hits park it is ready to idle again. Mine will do it when I forget to disable auto start/stop, sounds exactly like what you are describing.

Yeah the SS can engage/disengage while parking. I found the best thing is when parking to press the brake hard and see if SS engages and make sure you don't let off the brake until you are completely shifted into park (EPB Engaged). If you let off the brake as you are putting in park the engine can try to restart.

Overall the SS system can be derpy when parking, but Its hard for the computer to have a context if you are just stopping or parking so I'm not sure if the logic can be improved.

My 2018 f150 was the same, pull into a parking spot at work, as soon as it goes in to park it would restart. Took me a couple of times to realize what was happening. Turn off ASS!

Thanks everyone for responding. A.S.S. (ha ha) was it! Can stop it from happening with the off button or Tow/Haul mode then repeat it dipping when activated. Yes, we’ll need a software update for that Toyota!! Thanks again.

If you stop and let the engine shut off and wait about 2 sec to shift to park, the engine will stay off. Just FYI.
