I just received the Carista OBD2. Easiest one I've ever used by far. <3 minutes from the time I took it out of the box and was connected to the car.

    From the iOS App Store:

    New in v8.0:
    • Carista account registration
    • Customizations for certain BMW F models
    • Video in Motion for certain BMW F models
    • Battery Registration service tool update for BMW F models
    • Trouble code (DTC) descriptions in various languages
    • Service tools for various VW Group cars
    • TPMS Relearn service tool for certain Nissan models
I have a BMW F model. I tried it out. First off, you HAVE to have the Carista adapter to make changes on BMWs and I don't. I can see the options you can change and it's pretty limited; mostly lighting related. Looks like I'll be using the Bimmercode app to make changes instead of Carista on my BMW.

Anybody around Salem, OR that wants to use my 1 month free subscription and my Carista dongle send me a message.

Didn’t change a lot, 7 flashes turn signal.
Passenger belt warning, windows down on long unlock press. Trying the -2 A/C setting as well.

    So today

    - ambient temp to -2 ( that is a huge change )
    - fake engine off ( again...i paid the dealer to do this once , last oil change it re-surfaced)
    - Driver / passenger seatbelt warnings off
    - Lane change from 3 to 5 blinks
    - Ensure Active noise Cancellation was ON
    - Long press all windows down
    - then let 4 other people change shit on their trucks LOL

About 3-4 seconds after you hear the unlock beep to start the windows opening. If you release the button they stop part way.

I’m in Kelowna BC and would love to change a few things. Admittedly I have no idea what I’m doing but I’d be happy to buy some beers or coffee or whatever you like if you’d help me out. Let me know if you’re ever in my neck of the woods.

Can the Carista obd2 disable the tailgate drop option from the key fob. That button has me paranoid.

I think I'm going to change the all windows down back to OFF. I thought it was a long press and the windows would open, not so, the windows will open but will stop when you quit pressing the FOB.
    Unfortunately no.

When parked in my garage the tailgate is very close to the garage door. I'm concerned that I might hold down the tailgate lock button by accident at some point when the fob is in my pocket. Its not uncommon for my truck doors to be locked, by accident, when the fob is in my pocket while working around the house etc. Would hate to have the tailgate drop and hit one of the garage door hinges etc. and scratch/dent the tailgate.

Also, I don't see myself using the button. To me its much easier to get close to the tailgate and hit the button on the truck, especially when carrying material. Versus digging in my pockets to get the key fob then pressing the key fob button.

I think your dealer can turn that off in tech stream ,

I had the same concern with that and my son pushing the side taillight button so I put a foam row on the garage where the tailgate would hit so no damage if that did happen

you can see it here when it’s open, when it’s closed , that’s where it would hit

That's a good idea, thank you. Unfortunately I'm pretty sure mine would it one of the hinges, but I need to verify.

You could also cut some pool noodles down the middle and glue them to the door. This would give you a bump stop above the hinge height

First week I had the truck I was leaning over drivers seat getting something and I heard a click, didn't think too much of it.
Came out the next day and tailgate was down. It was outside so no harm.

Years ago I went to a bar after work, when I came out, all the windows were down on my SUV.
Got lucky laptop was still on the seat. I didn't even know the vehicle could do that.

I always wonder how often I accidentally unlock my vehicles.

I used to lock my wife's Highlander in the garage on a regular basis. It shouldn't be a big deal, but the purse with keys seemed to always be in there when it happened. I've actually had to drive home just to unlock it on more than one occasion. Happened more when I was wearing my snug jeans. I could've lost some weight, but buying bigger pants was easier.

What other settings are available to adjust on 2023s?

Also I had used a Bluetooth android Bafx dongle and tried the month carista subscription. I couldn't get any options to come up for the engine noise, just seat belt alarms and windows, blinkers type stuff.
Fyi The dongle I had for a jeep originally but I used it with the torque pro app, this app to has lots of live feed options for the tundra.

I would love to shut off this " do you need a break" alarm while driving.

Here's what I had access to, do I need another dongle or does the year/ trial subscription have more options or such?
