His build mentioned some chopping of the fenders/bumper for clearance, but I think you're right; his bed is normal 5.5'

 

So he had a full size bed at one point on a DC? I didn't think that was an option after first gens.

 

You could get 8’ bed double cabs in 2 and 2.5 gen - they are about as common as a RCSB.

DCs come with a regular bed. Crewmax comes with the shorty.

 

Trucks with beds shorter than 8' arent trucks.
