    The only instance I can think of would be pulling off at an Interstate rest stop and immediately shutting down.

    But even then, you are coasting to a stop usually. Plenty of time for the coolant and oil to circulate with no load on the engine and tons of air flow coming through the cooling stack.

    Sure, 15 to 30 seconds worth maybe, but if you were constantly in the boost on the Interstate there’s a LOT of latent heat that needs to be removed. I personally wouldn’t just shut down in that situation, especially if towing. To each their own.

    Anytime I'm towing on the interstate and hit a rest stop, I just leave mine idling for that very reason.
