You might consider a backpacking stove (think jet boil), or a stick burner like the Fire Box folding stove. Buddy has the latter and we've easily cooked on it for a few days.

Ya pretty much. Next job wasn’t till Thursday and equipment is ready to go, so got send home early.

It's more about your tax dollars paying for broken windows, shattered dishes and general I was scared settlements. There's 3 naval airfields within 10 miles of me. Trust me, sonic booms fuck stuff up. What annoys me is the come heres that complain about jet noise.

That and the ongoing complaints from people the move into a 5 year old development near a 50 year old hog farm. Yes hog farms smell.

Growing up, sonic booms were the norm in our area. 2 navy airfields and 4 civilian airports (1 international) large enough to handle the fast movers in those days. 3 of my elementary school teachers were married to pilots. We loved it. But as you said, the whiners whined and the fun had to go elsewhere. Now, my son spends a good amount of time around them and is in awe of them even while they are stationary.

 

I hate this push for tiny displacement forced air engines. I miss the days when a turbo or SC was for added performance, not to compensate for undesized and underpowered powerplants.

You ain't kiddin about hog farms; there was one in North Las Vegas, and if you were anywhere downwind of that thing you freakin' knew it.

We had the same shit out there w/Nellis AFB and people (developers) building near runways... Between McCarran Intl, Nellis AFB, NLV muni and Henderson muni airports there were no secrets, but people would still complain after moving near a runway or building a home in a flight path...
