I'm so confused. Have read through all the threads about lifts, leveling kits, tires, wheels, etc. You had to put a 6" lift to get 35x11.5 not to rub? That seems excessive for that truck and there's numerous other posts of lesser lifts working fine without rubbing or removal. I'm in the process of buying a new '23 and just want a good quality leveling system and a little bigger tires as it vastly improves the appearance of this model, like night and day difference. I don't want to have to chop, remove, replace, etc anything, just want to make a few changes so that the truck doesn't look like the tires are way too small for the rest of the vehicle.

For the record, I'm a vehicle rookie and don't really know much other than what I've read.

    Sweet truck BTW.

Nah I could've put a smaller lift, but liked this look. 35s shouldn't touch a 2-3 inch leveled truck, but depends alot on wheel offset. Prob still gotta remove mud flaps though. Here's a wheel tire calculator to help compare to your stock wheels/tires.

Also...you have to bear in mind the geometry differences between a 3" lift & 6" lift. The center of the hub on a 6" lift is outside of the truck body. Whereas on my 3" lift, it places the center of the hub (i.e. where the tire is widest) right at the edge of the wheel well. This is why most people with a 3" suspension lift will encounter some type of rubbing, depending on the offset and tire size they go with. A 6" lift would likely not encounter any rubbing during normal pavement use.

I won't go into the articulation differences between a 6" lift like the ProComp and a 3" suspension lift, but 6" would likely encounter rubbing as well if it could stuff the tires on an offroad trail. However, I don't know how much up travel the ProComp lift allows for.

Nailed it. Im only getting slight tiny tiny bit of rubbing on full lock in reverse only to the part circled in red. Again - as mentioned, a better alignment will likely fix this. However, I'd like to be preemptive and do this chop to the red circled area in case I move up to 37's in future or just to make sure if IM stuffing the wheels while offroad Im avoiding any additional rubbing.

So what I am hearing is chop it. But no plates exist for this to weld on and make look nice and clean.

Are you running their newer 6" kit for trucks with air ride?

I got the 6" procomp lift without UCAs and without air ride. I also added billet ICON UCAs.

***Side note *** If you have any kind of convertor shield it will have to be customized to fit as the mounting points on crossmember changes. Luckily my install guy is a fabricator so he cut and figured something out. Came out cherry!

Anyone know if 3rd gen take offs (front coils rear shocks and ucas) would fit 2nd gens. Tried searching and couldn’t find an answer. Trying to off load this set that’s sitting in my garage

Recently a service writer told me to not level or lift my new 3rd gen as she has seen a lot come in and the suspension upgrades have caused sensors to be messed up, codes thrown, faulty data etc but on the forums I haven't seen anyone mention this, Is this true?

any recommendations for a leveling kit?, so I'm assuming getting a 3.5 in lift kit that isn't a coil over replacement wouldn't be the best idea but a 2.5 with new ucas would be good? wanting to get into off-roading but nothing crazy

Exactly. Get a good kit with coilovers, UCA’s and new rear springs. Extend your brake lines and get some new bump stops and you’ll be golden

was hoping to stick under 1500 for a lift kit but that's gonna happen it seems, keep seeing the westcott preload collar being talked about but haven't seen a review on it, would that and new ucas be good? Have never been off-roading so would probably only be doing some dirt trails and mud

Westcott is just a fancy spacer lift- rides harsh and doesn’t do anything besides make the truck sit higher, it’s pre loading the stock suspension.

If you can wait a bit I’m sure bilstein will have 5100’s out for the new platform. That plus budget UCA’s (hell the TRD forged ones are cheap!!) should do the trick

that's what I was worried about didn't think it could be good to put the suspension under a constant load like that, are all non leveling kits 1000+ or am I missing one, thanks for the help I know basically nothing but want to learn

You paid 60k for your truck. Don’t cheap out on suspension imo. Keep it stock or spend the money

Kits from all your name brands like kings, icons, dobinsons.
Spacer kits aka wescott will just be compromising your already great stock suspension by adding a preload and stiffening your ride

I went with icons because kings were a couple of months on back order

you can get the stage 1 or stage 2 icon kit for cheap and add in the TRD, pro comp, etc UCA’s and then eventually upgrade the shocks!

I’m a super newbie in regards to lifting and leveling. Basically, I like the look, but I really doubt I will EVER off-road, especially in Ohio!
So, my 2023 hybrid promax has AVS and air suspension, the TRD kit Toyota has is not compatible with AVS and/or air suspension. I am interested in a kit that is compatible with Toyota Sense and is no more than 2-3 inches. I don’t want the ride to be less comfortable. I also plan on changing out my OEM Rims and Tires, as I said, I like the look more than I need actual off-road performance. So what would you experts advise in a high quality kit. What tire is least noisy and most comfortable, but at least looks like they could play in the dirt?

Reposting here for more traffic (while I try to figure out how to delete thread i started!). Has anyone running the c59-837v aka 220-440lb 1" lift ran them for any length of time unloaded? Curious how they ride unloaded, if they are bearable or simple too harsh without a load.

Revisiting this topic to see if anyone has done anything yet that I haven’t heard of.

Have a Platinum with both the AVS & Rear Air Ride. I have the Westcott setup on it and I’m running 35’s.

I think with the Westcott rear arm and added lift I get from that I should be able to do a full ICON suspension setup and ditch the preload collars…. (Yes I know I’ll be unplugging the AVS) But looking to see if anyone has done this or if other items needed to be done in addition (IE: Additional rear spacer or Air bag lift etc)

im really wanting to do the ICON CDEV setup. Anybody with the AVS & Rear Air Ride done anything like this yet….

Did any of y’all have to install a diff drop kit or get longer cv axles when you installed your suspension?

Also for the people who have icons, how do you like them so far? Someone told me icons tend to leak a lot?

No diff drop, no extended axles on my TRD OR with a 2" level.

I ran icons on my last 4runner. Leaked within 5,000 miles. Warranty took care of it, but having a brand new vehicle on jack stands for two weeks while I sent it off and waited for it to come back was BS. Not everyone can let their brand new vehicle sit in the garage for two weeks and still get to work. I have a friend that had something similar happen to him a year or so later. I will never buy another set of icons after that.

    *Edit*
I should also mention, I had to pay shipping to their "nearest service facility." Once they determined it was a warranty repair, they paid for return shipping.

Doesn’t the TRD come with the TRD axles though? Or is that only the Pro model?
