My tundra has started to develop a slight clunck feeling when I am turning. I noticed it a lot more pulling our travel trailer this weekend. It’s a 2015 with 133k miles on it and has pretty much had 295’s on it since new. What would be the best way to narrow down what the issue is? Im guessing either steering rack or tie rod ends? Thanks!

Mine does it too at full lock. Don’t know what it is either. But it hasn’t got worse and nothing has fallen off.

Take a look at your rack bushings. Worn bushings will cause your steering to feel clunky due to the rack shifting slightly from the excess play of the worn bushings. Also, these rigs (like most vehicles) do not like to taken to full lock as it stretches out the seals and can cause fluid leaks.

Lastly, you may want to look through the following thread. Probably not affecting you, but worth looking into. At the vary least, the dealer should inspect for free and verify you're not part of this....

    07-21 Tundra & 08-22 Sequoia steering rack recallTundras.com

So, this apparently started off as a recall asking dealers to verify their customers didn't have 1 of the 150 or so racks that were recalled. I believe this was a campaign that started during the C-circus when it was believed that only late MY '20s and early '21s might be affected . I think the number of recalls increased to over 20k vehicles that may have been affected. Supposedly, any 07-21 that ever had a rack replaced by a dealer may have received a bad rack (plus the original 150 that were installed new during the 20-21 build periods for new tundras).

    Good luck on resolution...
