New to the Tundra community, but long time Toyota enthusiast (all Tacoma's prior to this one).

Little disappointed in the build quality on my 2023 TRD Pro if I'm being honest (something I've never said about any of my previous Toyota's).

The headliner intermittently makes a faint "rubber"-on-"rubber" type squeaking noise directly above my head, and the driver's side door panel rattles a bit (light vibration) when the radio is on at any volume (and I do mean any volume).

I haven't had much time to investigate either of these issues yet - just curious if anyone else has had a similar experience and/or any suggestions on where to start.

Also dealing with a pretty brutal tailgate alignment issue, but that's an item for a different thread.

    Appreciate any insight.

    Thanks,

I see QC sadly hasn't improved at all. On my Jan built 2022 truck, I have the same rubber on rubber squeak above my head from the A-pillar/headliner area. 4 trips to the dealership and nobody can figure it out. My truck also has what I'd consider a tailgate alignment issue as well. When looking at the rear of the truck, with the tailgate closed, the left side has a MUCH bigger gap, than the right side. I can easily fit my thumb through the left side gap, but not the right. Is that what you're experiencing? Without taking a tape measure to it, I'd say its off by 1/4-1/3 of an inch. I've brought it up to different dealerships while getting service, they say it's normal and that's how these trucks are made.

FWIW, I looked at trucks on the lot, while waiting for service and saw some just as poorly aligned as mine and some that appeared perfect.

Yea - that's my tailgate issue. Have a 1/32" gap on passenger's side, 1/2" on driver's side. Looks like absolute hell. Not overly impressed after a 14 month wait. I've checked with a few other folks who have picked up 2023 Tundra's and they all seem to be well aligned. None of the dealerships in Atlantic Canada have any inventory on the lot for comparison.

It's going in to the dealer's body shop tomorrow for an assessment. They say the'll make it right, but we'll see.

Please update on what they say. To give credit, at one dealership, the Toyota master tech and I carefully inspected the tailgate. He did agree with me that it was off, that being said neither one of us see anyway possible that it can be "shifted" over back to the left side. There is a stationary black grommet on the lower left side that "captures" the tailgate, the right side has a "cammed" slot for removal, then you can pop it out from the left.

I have the same issue with the tailgate being misaligned on my new 2023. I noticed it while installing a tonneau this weekend. With the gap being larger on the left side it's going to be difficult to keep water out of the bed. @coickle - did you hear back from the body shop?
