I like river legacy a lot! It’s smooth and easy enough to cruise, but has enough technical stuff sprinkled in to have a little fun.
I haven’t brought the bike to palo duro, but there were lots of bikers there when I went and I was jealous. Some good riding there for sure

definitely going to wait for a sub-100 day in the coming weeks and hit up one of the trails obscenely early. I’m waiting on some “desert resistant” inner tubes from specialized before I take her out again.

Click the smiley face button and you’ll get a drop down menu that appears below the text box and you can pick shaver emojis you want from there

If I get ride time while I am there I will let you know. I run a specialized now (dream bike of mine) and still run tubes. My friend runs tubeless but I am not patient enough for that, yet. I will look into what you mentioned because I have no idea about those.

I really like their bikes, and might end up with one in the future, but dollar for dollar the Marlin 6 checked all the boxes for me for a starter bike that wasn’t lacking on specs.
The desert tubes apparently have a little sealant in them and are also thorn resistant so I can avoid this happening again:

I know plenty of guys who love their Marlins and I almost purchased one myself. But when I walked into the store they had my second favorite bike ready to go, so I bought it. the first was the same one in a different color... LOL... I know, dumb, but I dont care.

Ok, so the tubless setup he runs would solve that. They put some type of barrier on the tread side and then pump it with goop and then add air. when it hits a thorn like that, it resists it and if it gets through the goop seals it. They are great and he changed a lot less tires than I did, but... and this is why i didnt... At Knob Hill, he did something on a jump that caused the thing to pop. To repair it he had to add a tube and it was messy.... bad. And with limited drinking water, thats not for me.

Plus... Florida is a lot more forgiving at least in my area.

No apology needed for liking what you like!

I’ve heard of these setups, but haven’t really researched them much. For $12 a piece I’ll try these tubes and see what happens :D

Exactly. If you want, I can text him and ask him what shop he goes to and what its called specifically. He used to go to the one in Grapevine, but then moved to FW. It is universal to all mnt bikes, but I just dont remember. He still rides and is pretty active on the forums, Dorba i think.

Ok, I will reach out to him.

And heck yes! The shade was my favorite until I found EKG and the jump park. Those would test my limits for a while and would probably kick my butt now!

    Which flavor?

If it's red I'm in... If it's grape I'm running for the door

I can defend my stance. Purple is one of the sharpest colors. Red is one of the best flavors
