Yep. I say that every year when Steam has their summer sales and I add a couple of dozen or so more games to the 3000 or so titles that I'll almost certainly never play.

I meant that rhetorically. I don't know how many I actually have, but it's climbing. I just keep buying crap because it's so cheap during their sales. I hate/love Steam.

Got my stepson a PS5 and GoW Ragnarok but the minute I got my ass handed to me in the first fight, I gave him back the controller and logged into my PC.

We had this one. The connection to the TV required a screw driver to attach it to the uhf antenna. Then you had to spin the uhf dial, but I forget which channel.

Got a year subscription to Xbox Game Pass for Father's Day. First game I downloaded was the 007 Golden Eye...almost as good as I remember it. Everyone say's it's a true classic, but it doesn't have the draw for me as the original Doom or Wolfenstein.

Second game was Crackdown 3. I'd been waiting for that game for years before it dropped, but the reviews panned it so I never gave them my money. Now I know why...what a thorough disappointment. I've finished maybe 80% of the main story line and I'm bored. The guns suck, the missions are stupid, the side challenges are either very easy or very frustrating. I remember when the goal of the game was to allow complete destruction of buildings and skyscrapers, all of which was going to be processed in the cloud (this was before the cloud was the cloud) and then served up to the player. Instead they dropped a game that doesn't even come close to CD 2 for playability and enjoyment. Eff those guys...

Finally ran into him last night for the first time on World Tier II with my L35 Sorcerer. I had him down by 1/3 health before I figured out a strategy, and by then I only had 1 health potion left, but I put up a fight for a while on just the 1 remaining potion before I made a bad choice and he got me. If I had started the fight from the get go with that strategy and all my health potions (7) it would have been pretty close. I respawned and immediately returned to the area for a re-match, but he wasn't there.

True, but Wolfenstien predates Doom, and it's what I played 1st. Speaking of Doom, a couple buddies had computers too and we hooked em all up on a simple network and would play multiplayer Doom. I've never seen people laugh so hard and want to punch each other in the face. Good times.

I miss the LAN party and internet cafe days...I used to live in a small town where there was a badass one that also had a PC repair shop in it. I became buddies with the owner and he'd hook me up with free time and a hefty discount on PC parts. Memories....

Had been playing a lot of Farming Simulator 22, but took a break from it. Recently picked back up Forza Horizon 5 and Insurgency Sandstorm. Anyone else play?

The lan parties were a blast! Had a friend back in the day who was single. We'd have 30+ people at his house, and 2 games going (max was 16 I remember) in Duke Nukem and whatever else people wanted to play. Bunch'a drunk fools screaming and laughing. Fun times.

I made a strap for the PC which made it easy to carry. But it was this ol' damn clunker that was annoying.

Same. A lot of us worked for Boeing back then, and my buddy who hosted had a dedicated room with about 20 monitors. But I would lug mine anyway. I sure don't miss those ol' CRTs.

We still do LAN parties at my friend's place every couple months. Most of us bring our rigs every time but he's working on getting enough machines set up that we can just show up with pizza ingredients and beer.

I'm gonna trust that at least California recycled them (I say that with tounge-in-cheek) being that they charged a recycling fee that was tacked on at the time of purchase.

Which reminds me, when I got rid of my last one, I tried to do my due diligence and called my waste management service for a pick up, and they informed me that it would be a $20 recycling fee (or something like that). I told the lady, "why are you charging for this when I already paid that fee at the time of purchase?" She responded with, "Uhhh...". And when I asked if there was way to lift that and she said no, I told her fine then your guys can fish it out of my trash after the next pick up.

Don't get me started on duplicate fees (taxes) charged courtesy of our gov't.... local, state, federal...makes no difference. If they can take it from your pocket, they will try to.

Then they wonder why lesser folks just dump shit on the side of some back road.

A friend of mine is trying to set up a D&D group but it's not going well. So far he has himself and me...

I stopped doing LAN parties when I bought a server tower lol. Unless they wanted to meet at my place.

That's awesome! I wish I could say the same, but most of us all changed jobs and/or moved out of the area and rarely talk anymore.

Oh yeah, I've had thoughts of dumping stuff at the front entrance of their facility.

Have a different group of non-gamer friends that tried to do the same. Not a lot of interest. Then we tried Elf Quest and had a few people, but didn't last very long. Our latest is Sabaac. That's been more successful. No shortage of Star Wars nerds/fans around.

I had a handful of gaming buddies that continued to play for a little bit, but then they all got married with wives who don't let them do anything. Kind'a annoying cause I was first of the group to get married, but I still made time to play. I skipped/canceled on a few occasions when my kids were growing up, and they'd get all bent out of shape. Now they're the ones with younger kids and make zero time to play because "it isn't quality time." The few times I did get them out of the house their spouses complained that I'm a bad influence. LMAO. Not my fault you guys don't get to wear the pants in the family.

When I moved out of my parents house, I got an apartment with my buddy's older brother. We both had computers and setup a lan. I worked mornings and went to college at night. My buddy would show up in the evening, play on my computer in my room while I slept. He'd still be playing when I woke up for work at 5:30.

I was poor as shit barley scraping by...basically starving (I had lost 30lbs in a year because I couldn't afford food). My computer and my car being my only luxuries, but looking back, we had a lot of good times.
