DT couldn't get their aftermarket tire sensors to work in my 2018. Had to do oem when when I got tires last.

Felt like front brake wasn't releasing properly so I did a thorough cleaning of calipers then fresh brake grease. While the calipers were so clean, figured I could do some caliper paint too. The red must be worth at least +10hp. ;)

Looks great. Did you check out Bumpershellz overlays for the chrome grille surround and hood bulge? Gloss black might be a good enough match at $250. Attitude/Midnight black 218 (if that's your color) for a perfect match runs $350. For comparison, OEM grille surround and hood bulge, WITHOUT the sensor cover (cheaper 3D print options out there) will run at least $600 (that's what they're going for at Sparks right now). You've probably researched these options, but just in case...

While running errands today, I gassed up the Tundra at Costco. California gas tax increases by $.07 per gallon tomorrow.

I’ve had my epoxy paint for awhile just hard to get committed. It does look nice.

Got both front seats done ...very nice upgrade so far. Notice the passenger seat seems to sit higher but with less seat position avaiable on that side its not a bad thing. No more sliding fwd feeling and makes the extended seat function (on plat/1794) a lot more functional.20230628_233639.jpg 20230628_235608.jpg 20230629_001546.jpg

Thank goodness! California has always been too lax on seizing wealth and distributing it out for good use. Taxing residents more will fix the fundamental issues plaguing the state and bring about lasting prosperity for all.....

They should also pass legislation to force more owners to drive gas vehicles, generating more revenue.

    Lame sauce!

Can you repair the fiberglass yourself? As for paint, if you have a little patience and a decent air compressor, I'd recommend giving it a shot yourself.

I did the lazy method. Taped and covered then sprayed with them mounted/assembled on vehicle. Peeled tape before fully dry to be sure it came off easily rather than having pieces embedded at edge of paint. My tape lines dont really show with wheel on unless you know to look for it.

    Yea honestly a bummer.
I'm thinking of trying the repair myself honestly. Looking through some youtube videos, it doesn't seem like it would be too difficult. As far as painting them goes, I don't think I would be able to do a well enough job where I would be happy with them. I might just get them wrapped instead or try wrapping them myself.

Cool! Without seeing the damage its hard to tell but if its not super bad or majorly structural, you should be able to do it yourself.
I am right there with you about paint, but I wanted to try my hand at it to try and save money. I found a local auto paint place that could mix paint match to my vehicle (they have a hand scanner so it matches your sun faded paint) and it really wasn't bad money wise. I had some hiccups with my actual paint set up but ended up spraying with the cheap harbor freight gun and it looked good. Just make sure you have a compressor that meets the scfm needs of the gun.

Unfortunately you're correct ... I do miss the Pacific Ocean though but can always visit. Not going to bash Cali as I grew up there and it was great, plus can't discuss the reasons for current conditions anyway.

Not today but about a month ago I installed the Truckiipa faux leather seat covers on the front seats. They came highly recommended by one of my favorite YouTubers, Untamed Motors. They fit great and are easy to install. For $120 they are quite the upgrade for my SR5. IMG_1907.jpgIMG_1908.jpg

Went to swap out the headlight bulbs on our new to us 2016 DC, couldn't see how to access them, looked up how to do it and was flabbergasted. You have to take half the front end off lol. Project delayed until further notice.

Yes the process initially seems very overwhelming but it's remarkably simple once you get into it. So easy I can even do it and I dont belong anywhere near wrenches nor electrical components.

If it's within your budget you really ought to look at swapping the entire headlight assembly out with the OEM LED models. available in chrome, grayish chrome, and black bezel (TRD PRO); It truly is the highest ROI mod we can do for our trucks because the original halogen headlamps are so poor performing.
    https://www.tundras.com/threads/201...lay-harness-for-2014-2020-models-v-2-0.24416/
Read through that entire first post for information on what I'm talking about and how to truly "upgrade" your headlights. It's a long post, but very informative, and @iHacker 's harnesses surpass OEM quality. Welcome from NNY

Put a mini split in that garage! I promise you won’t regret it. I’ve lived here (SWFL) for 20+ years and can’t believe I waited until last year to add one.

Drove it home from SC yesterday and managed a 14.5 mpg. That’s the best I’ve ever seen from the mpg indicator. I did a hand calculation on the way up and came up with the same number as the computer so I think it’s pretty close on my truck. I have a bit of a lead foot and keep it around 85. Normally we don’t drive the Tundra on vacations but we needed the space. I also realized the potential need of the seat jacker.
