I have a company 2022 tundra. Love it runs great, but it doesn’t have the tow haul switch. I have been trying to get a part number to add. Is the switch all that I need? The wiring is in the condile or will I need more parts and programming?

No no. That switch changes programs in the control units for the transmission (up and downshifting), injectors (port vs direct injection), valves (timing), steering, sway control, abs, and probably the turbos too all for increased control, performance and power.
*PS- Also de-activates rear collision protection, engine start/stop and modifies BSM detection distance.

    Lots of stuff!
That's a great overview, I didn't know that it did all that!

How does TH affect steering and ABS? I was under the impression that TH only changes throttle response and shift points.

This new Tundra trailer braking system is integrated with the abs to help control trailer braking and jackknifing in a panic stop. It is reported to actually pulse the electric trailer brakes in conjunction with the trucks brakes. (I question how it knows what the trailers wheels are doing since there are no rotation sensors on the trailer but the RV industry is already testing a new system like that which integrates fully with the truck) The camera’s watching the trailer may be assisting just like they do in trailer assist (don’t know). Steering control pressure is enhanced in tow mode. My 2016 Tacomas steering pressure is increased. (same at low speed) The previous Tubdras do the same. https://support.toyota.com/s/articl...undra, with the 5.7L,a heavy trailer or load.

I know. My question still stood though.
So even in that article you posted (thank you btw) it doesn’t actually say steering is changed or breaking is changed. Just engine breaking, throttle response, and gear holding.

But that’s interesting on how it’s changed on the new tundra. Technology is definitely there to make things safer for the driver and for others around.
