Opinions: 35/12.5/18 or 295/70/18

What up guys! So I'm going to need tires soon. I am currently running 295/70/18s on Method wheels 18x9 (+18/5.75) and have been throwing around getting 35/12.5/18s.

What's are the pros and cons of running 35s on a midtravel?

Pro:Little more ground clearance
Con: maybe little heavier little more gas consumption
Other then that will work great on mid travel. That's what I am gonna run on my mid travel and I am running that size now on my stock suspension Toyo RT's 35x12.50. Good luck with your search

 

You probably gonna need CMC.

You should be fine with the wheels and offset you have. CMC and remove front mud flap and maybe slight trimming on front lower bumper you should be golden.

Yes he is. I got my mid travel kit from him. My coilovers be here this week. Got all my Tacoma stuff with him also.

@Tacotundra what about 285/75r18 over the 35? do you think there will still be an issues and need a CMC and or rubbing?

 

Will depend on what wheel offset you end up with. Mud flaps will still have to come off and the front cover will have to get moved a little. Basically on our trucks it comes down to wheel offset and width of the tire that determines if we need a CMC. Hope that helps.

 

Making this decision myself right now. I've already upgraded to NFAB RDS bumper, so 35's is what I was thinking. I'm on 18x9 Pro Comp phaser rims now w/ BFG KO2's that are wearing well. I'm considering the Toyo Open Country RT's. How's the ride on these? The MT suspension is arriving end of the month and going on. I am going w/ the Icon Level 2 with tubular UCA's.

 

I really like my Toyo RT's ride is awesome and there are awesome off-road. I had KO2's on my Tacoma. I would say the RT's are better in my opinion. Good luck with your decision.

I love my R/T. I have KO2 on my SUV, they are nice too but a bit more noisy. However I think the KO2 perform better in snow.

 

true... looking at an +18 offset. i will probably add some CB shims for a little extra with the icons coils. i want the Toyo RT in the biggest size or closest to the 295/70r18 without going to the full 35x12.5r18.
